I know a girl named [name_f]Neve[/name_f] and she pronounces it neev.
I know someone who named their daughter [name_f]Neve[/name_f]. Her name rhymes with [name_f]Bev[/name_f]. However, I would have pronounced it as neev first.
I would say “neev”, though I know the actress [name_f]Neve[/name_f] [name_u]Campbell[/name_u] pronounces it “nev”.
I really like it (prn “neev”). I usually prefer the traditional spellings of names, but this is one case where I find the anglicised version (of Gaelic [name_f]Niamh[/name_f]) prettier.
I’m Irish and so I’ve always thought of [name_f]Neve[/name_f] as simply a more universally friendly spelling of [name_f]Niamh[/name_f], which is always pronounced Neev.
Exactly this.
Yes. Never thought until today that someone can read it as Nehv.
[name_f]Neve[/name_f] is the Portuguese word for snow. It’s also a common spanish and portuguese lastname. In both cases, it’s pronounced Nehv, so that’s what I think about.
Neev like [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
