How do you pronounce Raphael?

It’s a weird mix between rah-fye-ELL and rah-fah-ELL, emphasis on the last syllable but a mix of sounds on the second. I’m in the US (Texas) and I know Spanish so that influences my pronunciation a bit

I know someone with this name and they pronounce it:

raw-fye-ELL

like raw (chicken), fi(ght), and (h)ell(o) with emphasis on ELL.

I’m in [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_u]Zealand[/name_u] and I pronounce it raf-eye-EL.

Same here! I’m from the US.

Such a handsome name. I’m an American (West coast accent) living in [name_f]France[/name_f]. In [name_f]English[/name_f] I say “raw-fy-yel” and I think I give each syllable about equal weight.
In [name_u]French[/name_u] I say “Ra-fa-EL”.

Edited to add: if I meet a [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] (f not ph—tends to be the Spanish spelling), I try to veer towards the second pronunciation).

I’m [name_u]West[/name_u] [name_f]Indian[/name_f].

I say Rah-fye-El.

Rah-fah-ELL

I’m Finnish

im from the us (ny to be exact so i do have a slight accent)

raf-eye-elle

usa. Raw-fye-el

Another Aussie here. RAF-eye-EL or even RAF -A -EL
