So I was just wondering the correct way to pronounce [name_f]Rowena[/name_f]. I’m used to saying it like [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-wen-a, but I found out it could be [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-ee-na. What do you think is the right way?
I like your way but I think it’s “eena”. Bummer
[name_f]Roe[/name_f]-ee-nuh
I think they could both work. I prefer [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-wen-a as well.
I pronounce it [name_f]Roe[/name_f]-eena.
[name_f]Ro[/name_f]-ee-na is the traditional pronunciation. More recently (presumably as [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] gains more popularity) I’ve seen people looking for the [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-ehn-uh pronunciation
When I first saw it, I instinctively said Row-enn-ə. But then I heard it said Row-een-ə (which I do not like as much at all), and decided to do something I don’t intend on making a habit, and use the spelling Rowenna, which has been on my list ever since. I absolutely love [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], but most definitely only with the -enn- pronunciation, so Rowenna just solved a lot of problems, even though the validity of the variation is a bit iffy. Ho hum, guess it’ll be the exception that proves the rule.
[name_f]Roe[/name_f]-eena …
row-wee-nah is how I pronounce it, though wouldn’t be surprised if someone pronounced it row-wen-uh.
I would agree its usually said as Row -ee-na but as some PPs say its entirely beautiful as Roh.wen.a - Like [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] added it to my list.
The only person I know with that name definitely pronounces it Row-ee-na. I guess that making it a double n could get you to the pronunciation you prefer.
I say roe-EEN-uh.
I say [name_f]Roe[/name_f]-eena.
[name_f]Ro[/name_f]-enna is the only way of pronouncing this name
I pronounce it [name_f]ROE[/name_f]-ee-na
