Ok, I’ve looked around many sites and cannot seem to find how to pronounce [name_m]Silas[/name_m]! I’ve seen it so many times on Nameberry so can someone please tell me!

I’ve always pronounced it SIGH-less, but I could be wrong. I think it’s a lovely name!

[name_m]Cy[/name_m]-liss or maybe Sigh-less (not sure how to write it out as I say it) is how I pronounce it and know multiple people with children with that name who pronounce it that way.

It’s [name_m]SIE[/name_m]-ləs. Stress on first syllable, so the second vowel is a schwa, like all unstressed vowels in English. People often don’t know how to write it, but it’s ə, like an upside-down e.

I first heard it on an audio tape/CD, and it was said SIGH-ləss, so that’s how I’ve always said it. I love it!
