[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce the name [name_f]Camille[/name_f]? Cuh-MEEL, or Cah-MEE? Or something else entirely? If you could post where you’re from, too, that would be helpful (I’m in Australia, and tend to say Cuh-MEEL).
Also: WDYT of the name [name_f]Camille[/name_f]? WDYT of a sibset of [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]?
Thank you!
I say kuh-MEEL and I’m from [name_u]California[/name_u], US. [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is a very cute sibset [name_f]IMO[/name_f]>
I say cuh-meel. It’s not my style, but it’s a sweet name and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] are cute together.
I say it like Kuh, but with a slight e-ish thing, so more like Keh-Meel, but I tend to say [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] like Kah-Mee-[name_f]EllA[/name_f]
I say kuh-meel, too. I’m from Australia. I’ve only ever met one person who pronounced it Cah-mee and that was a [name_m]French[/name_m] girl I met whilst on holiday and that was her name.
The [name_f]Camille[/name_f] I knew pronounced it like cam-eel. She was a kiwi.
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is a really lovely set
I pronounce it like cuh-MEEY, but I prefer [name_f]Camilla[/name_f].
It’s a [name_m]French[/name_m] name and I prononouce it like they do in [name_f]France[/name_f]: KAMIELLEUH
Cuh-MEEL. I like it. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] sounds cute together.
I say cuh-MEEL, but I would pronounce it cuh-MEE if I were in [name_f]France[/name_f], say, or were speaking to a little [name_m]French[/name_m] girl with the name. I wouldn’t say that the cuh-MEEL pronunciation is wrong though, even though it is different from the original - for me, it’s just like [name_m]Martin[/name_m]; MAHR-tin in [name_f]England[/name_f] but mahr-[name_m]TAH[/name_m] in [name_f]France[/name_f]. Different, but not wrong. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this makes sense!
I’m from [name_f]England[/name_f] and I pronounce it ‘cah-mill’. I think it’s a really pretty, girly name that goes nicely with [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
I’d pronounce it cuh-MEEL. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] would be cute together!
I say cuh-MEEL (I’m from [name_f]Florida[/name_f], US). I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] would be adorable together
Cuh meel! I am from [name_u]Tennessee[/name_u]. One of my favorite names.
I’m [name_m]French[/name_m], so I pronounce it the [name_m]French[/name_m] way, which is close to cuh-MEE.
In the US the full name is usually pronounced Cah-meel. As far as I’ve heard. in [name_f]France[/name_f] it’s Cah-mee. Either way I like it, but wouldn’t want the confusion of if she’s [name_u]Cam[/name_u]-eel or [name_u]Cam[/name_u]-ee. (But I have family in both countries…)
I would say Kah-meal, and I’m American. Dr. [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_m]Saroyan[/name_m] is a character on one of my favorite shows (Bones). On the show they call her Kah-Meal when someone uses her formal name. Her nickname is [name_u]Cam[/name_u]. I really like/respect the character and the appreciation of the name has gone up due to her.
I also really like both [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], but think [name_f]Camille[/name_f] sounds more serious and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is more light-hearted and not as serious.
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!
I say it cuh-MEEL and I live in the US.
I really like the name, and I think it goes nicely with [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a sibling!
I pronounce it cah-MEEL.
