I’d pronounce it as ih-zoolt (like Iseult) but that might well be wrong
ee-soolt, emphasis on 2nd syllable, but that’s [name_f]English[/name_f], not [name_m]French[/name_m]
I would instinctively pronounce it “ee - SOOLT” but I might be wrong
I say ee-SOOLT, too!
I would say eee-SAULT
Honestly no idea, I’d have to Google it.
[name_m]Prior[/name_m] to seeing the name [name_f]Iseult[/name_f] a lot within the context of [name_m]Tristan[/name_m] and [name_f]Iseult[/name_f] (where a painting with them also had [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] in parenthesis), I would have said [name_f]Yseult[/name_f] like ee-soolt/ee-zoolt. After seeing the name [name_f]Iseult[/name_f] - which [name_f]Yseult[/name_f] is the [name_m]French[/name_m] variation of - with the name [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], I would say it like “ih-soolt” or even “ihz-oolt.” I wouldn’t be totally confident, though.
I would say EE-zault.
I would say ee-zault in an English-speaking context, and ee-zeu in my native language (French).
In [name_m]French[/name_m] it’s ee-zeu (with the [name_m]French[/name_m] eu sound, as in “neuf”, “veux” etc). I don’t even know how I would say it in [name_f]English[/name_f] though. I’ve never encountered it as an [name_f]English[/name_f] name. Maybe something like iz-oolt.
I know it’s really ee-zolt but my immediate reaction when I read it was eez-ey-olt
I would say Ee-soolt but I could see many American [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers landing on “Ye-soo-elt” because Ys tends to trip us up if we haven’t been familiarized with it.
ee-soolt would be my go-to
love, a very bad french student <3
Eesoolt
