Is [name_f]Mayra[/name_f] pronounced just like [name_f]Myra[/name_f] (My-rah) or is it pronounced like it is spelled ([name_f]May[/name_f]-rah)? Does the pronunciation vary by location? Any info on this name is appreciated.

Also, I really want to use [name_f]Mayra[/name_f] ([name_f]May[/name_f]-rah) so if there is another spelling to achieve this sound with less confusion, please share! Thanks.

I would pronounce it [name_f]May[/name_f]-ruh. [name_f]Myra[/name_f] is a different pronunciation as you indicated. I’m not familiar with another spelling for [name_f]Mayra[/name_f] I think this one is probably the easiest to indicate the pronunciation that you want.
