We are having an awful time trying to come up with a name for baby boy #2.
At the moment [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is the ONLY name we both actually love.
I’m weary though as its SO popular and while I don’t mind the possibility of a few [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]'s in his school while he is there I’d really like to avoid picking a name that could result in like 4 of them in the same class.
[name_m]How[/name_m] many [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]'s do you actually know that were born from 2016 and onward?
I don’t know any Olivers, but I don’t know a ton of babies. I think it’s helpful to look at the list of popular names from the year you were born and see what names went to a similar percentage of babies. So if you were born in 1990, similar popularity names would be [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Richard[/name_m], [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], [name_f]Melissa[/name_f], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], and [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] (for the US). I knew a lot of Bens and Rebeccas, but I don’t think I ever had more than 2 in a class.
I don’t know any people with the first name of [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].
I think worrying about him meeting another [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a bit much. People have always shared names and popular names these days are given to a fewer percentage of people anyway. If you like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], choose [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].
I am an elementary teacher in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] and I know zero! I know tons of [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Owens[/name_m] and Levis though, but zero Olivers!
I’m in the exact same boat! We both love [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] but I’m concerned about the popularity. It’s the number 2 name in my state☹” but I actually only know one.
Since my son was born in 2017, I have met 3 Olivers under 2, and also one [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] that I met once and have to assume is also an [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].
