How popular is Ruby?

I quite like the name [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], but I don’t like the popularity. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] ranks #62 in the US and #21 here in Australia, but how many Ruby’s do you know/have you met?

This is all just hypothetical, not for an actual child, and probably doesn’t matter because it’s very unlikely I’d actually use the name. However I still want to know, is [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] actually very popular?

In the US and I think I’ve only ever met one who would be in her late teens.

I only know one [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and she’s middle-aged (my classmate’s mum) (English isn’t the most predominant language where I live)

Not from the US, and I’ve only ever met two people named [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. One was a child, but that was years ago so she must be in her early teens now. The other person is in her 50s.

Firstly Ruby is lovely :gem:

I know two Ruby’s one is in her early twenties and the other is 18 months old.

Im in the US and had a great aunt [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] who lived to be quite old and prospected for uranium in her younger days!! Only have known one

I’ve only met one that I can remember, but maybe one other in passing. Also one dog (my own!) and one middle name (my cousin!) :relaxed:

I have never met a [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] but i do know some how used the name on a child a couple of years ago and I have a friend whos middle name is [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] but other than i dont know any Rubys

Southwestern US here and I’m 21, I have only met one person named [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] in my whole life. The name suited her but at first it was a little stunning since I had not encountered it before, this girl was around 4 or 5 years old at the time and it was many years ago

I’m also in Australia.

I work in a primary school and I think there are two girls called [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] out of the one hundred or so that I take care of!

I also know that in the mid-2000s, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] was #1 in the UK!
