How popular is Selena?

I’m really considering [name_f]Celina[/name_f] for if my baby is a girl. I love it, it’s not even in the top 1,000 but it’s easily recognized [name_f]IMO[/name_f] & I love its nicknames. However I’m worried about the popularity of [name_f]Selena[/name_f] which is essentially the same name… it’s currently ranked 249 in the US. [name_m]How[/name_m] popular is a top 300 name? Anyone have any experience with semi-popular names…

I know 2 [name_f]Selena[/name_f]’s who are my age (high school age), but none that are little. [name_m]Just[/name_m] one little [name_f]Serena[/name_f]

I don’t know any Selenas personally, and I’d consider myself to know a lot of people. I do know a [name_f]Celina[/name_f] though! She’s 17.

I only know one little girl named [name_f]Selena[/name_f], she’s about 5 I think. I don’t think of it as a common name, but it may depend on where you live.

I don’t know anyone named [name_f]Selena[/name_f]. FWIW, my daughter’s name was in the 300s the year of her birth, and between 200-400s for the last twenty years or so, and I have yet to meet anyone, child or adult, with the same name.

I know 1 [name_f]Celina[/name_f] in her early 20s, a [name_f]Selina[/name_f] who’s in high school and a [name_f]Selina[/name_f] in her 40s, and 1 [name_f]Selena[/name_f] also in high school.

I’ve never met a [name_f]Selena[/name_f] of any spelling.
