I’m just all over the place on this forum! Sorry! I’m trying to form a second list since the first one was disagreed with. I love the nn [name]Allie[/name] for a little girl, but I’d rather not use the name [name]Alison[/name]. Mostly because of the -son ending. My daughter isn’t a son. Lol Could [name]Angelina[/name] be nicknamed [name]Allie[/name]? What are some of your suggestions?
Here’s a huge list of female names starting with [name]Al[/name]: Al- Girl Names Starting with "Al"
I, too, love the nickname [name]Allie[/name]! Here are some ideas I’ve had/seen
[name]Alexandra[/name] / [name]Alexa[/name] / [name]Alexis[/name] - I actually knew a girl in hs who was [name]Alexandra[/name], nn [name]Allie[/name] instead of [name]Alex[/name] / [name]Lexie[/name] / etc.
[name]Alanna[/name]/[name]Alana[/name]
[name]Alyssa[/name] / [name]Alissa[/name] / [name]Alicia[/name]
[name]Allegra[/name] - also a nice meaning!
[name]Alma[/name] - kind of a nice vintage sound, like [name]Eloise[/name] or [name]Ruth[/name].
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Althea[/name] / [name]Alethea[/name]
I think it’s a little tough to get a unique nickname out of a name that has some pretty obvious nicknames (Like I’d assume that [name]Angelina[/name] would be nicknamed [name]Ange[/name], [name]Angie[/name] or [name]Lina[/name]) but if you’re the one that starts calling her that, it’ll stick! Someone made that point in a thread about nicknames for [name]Charlotte[/name] and I thought it was very apt. Like the [name]Alexandra[/name]/[name]Allie[/name] that I knew in school - no one called her [name]Alex[/name] or [name]Lexie[/name] because her family called her [name]Allie[/name], and that was what she told people to call her.
[name]Alissa[/name], [name]Alicia[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Alexis[/name], [name]Melanie[/name], [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Natalie[/name], [name]Adalie[/name], [name]Coralie[/name], [name]Kalie[/name], [name]Evalyn[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Allie[/name] is a common nicknames for [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Alexandra[/name]
Basically anything that starts with [name]Al[/name] would work. I know someone who is [name]Alyssa[/name] but goes by [name]Ally[/name].
My favorites are [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Althea[/name] - all are great names that [name]Ally[/name] is an obvious nn for.
I’ve recently fallen for [name]Aloisa[/name] nn [name]Allie[/name]!
I agree that you can basically take any name starting with [name]AL[/name] and use [name]Allie[/name]. One that I like is Alisande.
I like [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Angelina[/name]. here are some other options:
Callista
[name]Cor[/name]aline
[name]Ros[/name]alie
Thalia
I like [name]Rosalie[/name] the best
