How to get to Mac or Mak?

I love the nickname [name_m]Mac[/name_m] or Mak for a boy, but the name [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] seems to feminine nowadays. what other names can you think of that could get this nickname? Thanks!

I’d choose [name_m]Macsen[/name_m] or [name_m]Maksim[/name_m].

[name_m]Macauley[/name_m] and [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] are two are my favourites.

I’d second [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] and [name_m]Macauley[/name_m].

I’ll also suggest:

[name_m]Malachi[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m] (??)
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]

and pretty much any “MC” name.

[name_m]Mack[/name_m] as a nn is awesome.
Best of luck.

[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_m]Maksim[/name_m], or [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] work for sure.
I actually love [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] though. This is my ex boyfriend’s name, and I actually [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it. He goes by [name_m]Mack[/name_m], but I tried to sneak “[name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]” in when I could. It was my #2 boy name right before I met him

[name_m]Maddoc[/name_m] is a cool way to get [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. Its kinda of like the uber trendy [name_m]Maddox[/name_m].

I love the name Mack! Personally I think almost any M name would work. Mack is such a general, friendly nickname so it seems very usable. Like if you choose Matthew and call him Mack, I don’t think many people would be confused how you get Mack out of that. Maybe that’s just me though. If I ever have a little boy, I want to name him Morgan Zachary and use Mack as a cute family nickname. I thought of that by just combining the sounds of Morgan and Zack. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch. (Once again, maybe it’s just me)Maybe you could use that idea too? Like Matthew Jack/Jackson or Mason Zachary. I think it’s an option if you can’t find a name you like that naturally leads to Mack.

Another name to consider is Macklin. I once coached a little boy who had this name but he went by Mack.

Also Maxwell would work too.

I think any [name_u]Max[/name_u] name should work. [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_m]Mack[/name_m] are close enough that people should think twice about it.

I would go with [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], [name_m]Malachy[/name_m], [name_m]Macsen[/name_m]/[name_m]Maxen[/name_m], or [name_m]Maddox[/name_m]/[name_m]Madoc[/name_m].

[name_m]Cormac[/name_m] for sure! I love this name!

[name_m]Mack[/name_m] was a nickname we kicked around for a bit. We were going to get it from Martin Commodore K****. I think you could get it from any M name with a C or K middle (or last name). I love the suggestion of [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]!

I love the suggestions of [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] and [name_m]Cormac[/name_m].

I also like [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] as a way to get [name_m]Mac[/name_m]/mak.

In addition to [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], which I adore:

[name_m]Merrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Maxim[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximus[/name_m]
[name_m]Maxfield[/name_m]
Macai/[name_m]Makai[/name_m]
[name_m]Micaiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Macaulay[/name_m]

As many have said: [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]! This is a lovely, handsome name.

As a side note, I am glad that you are trying to come up with a full name for him instead of just going with [name_m]Mac[/name_m]/[name_m]Mack[/name_m]. I have two friends who that is literally their sons name, not just a NN.

As others have suggested, [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] is a great way to get [name_m]Mac[/name_m], that is how I would do it. Also, [name_m]McArthur[/name_m] would work.

I second [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] and [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m].

In English [name_m]Mac[/name_m] or [name_m]Mack[/name_m] was originally a nickname for [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] (e.g. [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] literally means “[name_m]Mack[/name_m]'s well”).

[name_m]Macsen[/name_m]
[name_m]Macarius[/name_m]
Nicomachus

and for an Irish vibe
[name_m]Macallister[/name_m]
Maccallum
Macdougal
[name_m]Macgregor[/name_m]
[name_u]Mackay[/name_u]
[name_m]Maclean[/name_m]
Maclaine

I would spell it [name_m]Mack[/name_m] and let it stand all by itself! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it. Cute for a little boy but seems strong and manly when he’s grown.

I would go with [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m].
