How to honor Ann?

[name_m]How[/name_m] could I honor an [name_f]Ann[/name_f] with a boys name? She had no middle name, so that’s not an option. ALso, I prefer honor names using the person’s name, not interests.

[name_m]Anthony[/name_m]
[name_m]Andreas[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_m]Anders[/name_m]
[name_m]Anderson[/name_m]
[name_m]Vann[/name_m]
[name_m]Yann[/name_m]

[name_f]Ann[/name_f] is a form of ‘God is [name_f]Gracious[/name_f]’ - the direct male version of that is [name_m]John[/name_m].
So any [name_m]John[/name_m] variant would work if you feel like an honour name based purely on meaning is enough.
Otherwise I think @greyblue has given some great suggestions.

[name_m]Hanan[/name_m] is the male equivalent. Could use the nickname Han too.

I’d suggest looking up names ending in -an.
There are many great options like [name_m]Callahan[/name_m], [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m], [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] etc

I would add these to the names already suggested (trying to avoid repeats):

Adrian
Alexander (and I really love Anders as suggested by @greyblue)
Anton
Aurelian
Clancy
Daniel
Dean (a little far-fetched)
Declan
Dylan
Emilian / Emiliano
Evander
Finnian
Florian
Francis
Hannes (Hahn-iss; a diminutive of Johannes)
Lachlan
Johannes
Jonathan
Julian
Kenan
Kian
Landon
Leander
Manoel / Manuel
Morgan
Nathanael / Nathaniel
Nathan
Nolan
Orion (a bit far-fetched)
Orrin (far-fetched)
Owen (a bit far-fetched)
Roman
Rowan
Ryan
Sebastian
Soren (a bit far-fetched)
Vannes
Warren (a bit far-fetched)

I think names with a syllable that sounds strongly like “ann” rather than “en” or “in” (e.g. Anton or Nathaniel vs. Declan) and also actually having the visual connection of the letters -an- make the connection to the name you want to honor much clearer, but really it’s up to you to decide what feels like an honor name and what not

[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Anders[/name_m]
[name_m]Anderson[/name_m]
[name_u]Roan[/name_u]/[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u]
[name_m]Donovan[/name_m]

Han
[name_f]Ann[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] come from [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
Han would be perfect and simple
Hananiah I like also if you like long names
You could get away with [name_m]Hans[/name_m] if you prefer
Then there’s
Ananiah & [name_m]Ananias[/name_m] that could work
Or An- names that are mainstream like [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] [name_m]Antonio[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_m]Ander[/name_m] [name_m]Anders[/name_m] [name_u]Andy[/name_u]
Or if you really want to make it subtle… -an names
Like -[name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] and so on
Or just anything with an in it like [name_m]Xander[/name_m]
Now off you really want [name_f]ANN[/name_f] with NN I’m not sure but you can spell things whatever way you like
[name_f]Ann[/name_f] means [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_m]John[/name_m] and it’s variants mean God is [name_f]Gracious[/name_f] so that could work.
[name_m]John[/name_m], [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_m]Ian[/name_m], [name_u]Shawn[/name_u], giovani, [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m]

or [name_m]Zain[/name_m] / [name_m]Zayn[/name_m] also means [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

Something like Graceon, Grason or [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] or [name_m]Greyson[/name_m] are also usable I think with meaning being used.

There are a lot of great options and I’m sure you’ll find something that suites your namesake goals as well as something you love on its own.

Although I guess any boy name with “an” or “ann” could work, I think names that have it at the beginning are more obviously an honor name (how obvious you want it to be is of course your personal preference, but I’ll try to list names that feature a more prominent connection)
[name_m]Ansel[/name_m]/[name_m]Anselm[/name_m]
Anias
[name_m]Anton[/name_m]/[name_m]Anthony[/name_m]/[name_m]Antonio[/name_m]
[name_m]Anson[/name_m]
[name_m]Anton[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_m]Anderson[/name_m]/[name_m]Anders[/name_m]
[name_m]Hans[/name_m]/Hannan
[name_f]Annick[/name_f]
[name_u]Gray[/name_u]/[name_m]Grayson[/name_m] (since [name_f]Ann[/name_f] means grace)
