What tips do you have for choosing first and middle names that flow together? I am having a hard time coming up with boy names that i like in combination. Anyone have any naming tips?
Getting a name to “flow” has alot to do with how many syllables there are in each name, what letters the name has in it and of course how well the first and middle names blend with the surname. (1) Choose a first name that goes well with the surname. If that first name is one syllable, a two or three syllable middle name would be better. The middle name should act as a “bridge” between the first and last name. (2) Another rule should be to avoid using middle names that begin or end with the same letter or sound as the first name (eg. [name]Dane[/name] [name]Shane[/name]). (3) Consider the meanings of the names; (4) Avoid embarrassing initials (eg. [name]Percy[/name] [name]Ivan[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] = PIG).
