How To Pronounce Adelia?

I came across the name [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] in one of nameberry’s new articles. When I read it I pronounced it as ah-deal-ee-ah but when I used my laptop to pronounce it it said aid-leah. Which way would you pronounce this name?

Sidenote: What do you think of [name_m]Graham[/name_m] (b) & [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] being a twin set?

Definitely a-deal-ee-a. I think those pronounciation things get it wrong pretty often, my sister showed me today a site saying that [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] is pronouced BAHN-ee… it’s definitely not.

I think [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] and [name_m]Graham[/name_m] sound okay as siblings, I think they’re different styles but there is one very masculine sounding and one very feminine so it still works.

I say add-ee-lee-uh

Before I even saw how you wrote out the pronunciation that was how I said it in my head lol
And [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] are a great set! Like the pp said one is very masculine and the other feminine so no confusion about which twin is which! (I can’t stand unisex fraternal twin sets.) Also they both have an old fashioned southern style charm to them IMHO.

I say a-[name_f]DEE[/name_f]-lee-uh, and I think [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] go fine together.

I pronounce it a-[name_f]DEE[/name_f]-lee-uh too. I think [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] are perfect together!

I say uh deal yuh. It’s lovely with [name_m]Graham[/name_m].

I’d say it a-[name_f]DEAL[/name_f]-ee-uh. Maybe uh-[name_f]DEAL[/name_f]-yuh if I’m speaking quickly and it gets smooshed. But I think the common pronunciation would have “deal” stressed. I think [name_f]Adelia[/name_f] and [name_m]Graham[/name_m] pair well together. Good luck!
