I have always been a huge [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] fan, and as we all know, Nymphadora Tonks’ mother is called [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f].
I have always pronounced it [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-drom-me-dah but I’ve heard people pronounce it
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-drome-eh-da. (I don’t know if you can tell the difference between what I have written haha, many apologies!!)
I’d also say [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-drom-ee-dah or [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-drom-eh-dah. The ee/eh sound really depends on the speed at which I’m saying it.
This is what I’ve always heard, what I’m familiar with, and if it’s any comfort at all, the version used for pop culture things like the show [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] from the early 2000s.
I’m not sure of the correct way, but I’ve always heard it as [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-DROM-mih-duh. Short O like orange or [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], and short I sound like in or it. More like the second pronunciation I think. I really love [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]!
