I’ve seen this name written a lot, but have never heard it being said. As I read it, I think [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] that rhymes with ‘wife’ and haven absolutely fallen in love with the name. I’ve been looking online and some people have said it’s pronounced [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] that rhymes with ‘with’. Can anyone tell me how to properly pronounce it, or is it just down to where you’re from? Thanks
I’m not a native speaker so I can’t tell you for sure but I would also pronounce it so it rhymes with wife. Also Forvo says that you are correct.
I’ve always pronounced [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] with the same eye- sound that is in size or knife, with a vocalized th- sound (like the th- sound in mother, not the th- sound in with). And yeah, Forvo agrees.
