I’ve seen this name written a lot, but have never heard it being said. As I read it, I think [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] that rhymes with ‘wife’ and haven absolutely fallen in love with the name. I’ve been looking online and some people have said it’s pronounced [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] that rhymes with ‘with’. Can anyone tell me how to properly pronounce it, or is it just down to where you’re from? Thanks
I’m not a native speaker so I can’t tell you for sure but I would also pronounce it so it rhymes with wife. Also Forvo says that you are correct.
I’ve always pronounced [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] with the same eye- sound that is in size or knife, with a vocalized th- sound (like the th- sound in mother, not the th- sound in with). And yeah, Forvo agrees.
Yep, what they said. I know a [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], and she pronounces it with the long I sound and the more substantial th- like in bother.
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] rhymes with wife. Long I - “B-LIE-TH”
I know a [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and she pronounces it b-LIIIIE-v, the ‘v’ like the ‘th’ in mother. More like it rhymes with wive (as in wives) instead of wife, I say them differently.
It is pronounced Bl long I sound and th, kind of a pretty name
I say [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] rhyming with life.
Here’s a pronounciation you can listen to!
Forvo’s a great site if you wanna hear some pronounciations! I’d highly recommend you to check it out in future!
