I have been saying Gnat (like the bug) for [name_u]Nat[/name_u], and [name_m]Math[/name_m] with an N for Nath-
I’d say the same! looks right to me! Though, I wouldn’t be shocked if someone pronounced Nath as ‘gnat’ too, especially as a nickname.
Those were my instinctual pronunciations, though I considered that if Nath was short for Nathan, it might be pronounced like that first syllable (“a” as in may).
In Australia, we pronounce [name_u]Nat[/name_u] like gnat (like you said) and Nath rymes with wraith (it has long A sound).
[name_u]Nat[/name_u] - same as you, I think, rhyming with bat or cat
Nath - depends. On it’s own, probably like math with an n, same as if it was a nn for [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. However, I might also consider Nay-th (like the beginning of [name_m]Nathan[/name_m], and rhyming with faith)
[name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_u]Nat[/name_u] for both. I can’t pronounce the TH sound.
A like car or cat, depends.
