How to spell Al-ee-see-a?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Looking for name spelling tips
Would like to avoid pronounciations: Al-i-sha, a-liss-a, a-less-ah

And then with that I want to avoid a made up spelling. If I were ok with a made up spelling I’d go with Aleesia but I’m thinking that’s not a “real” name?

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I would go with [name_f]Elysia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alysia[/name_f]!

When I see [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] – unless I am in Madrid – I pronounce it the Spanish way. I never say [name_f]Aleesha[/name_f] unless I am told that the name is pronounced that way.

Most students that I teach have names that are pronounced contrary to English/American phonics and spelled differently, so you should do what works for you.

I knew someone with this name who spelled it [name_f]Alisia[/name_f], but I think it got mispronounced a lot so thats not actually helpful haha
I like Alysia/Elysia!

I would spell [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] :cherry_blossom:

I would spell it [name_f]Alicia[/name_f]!

[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]. I don’t pronounce it like [name_f]Alisha[/name_f]. [name_m]Or[/name_m] Alysia… [name_f]Elysia[/name_f] maybe, but that’s eh(or ee)-liss-ee-uh.

I would choose [name_f]Alicia[/name_f]. It’s the most classic and pleasant spelling to me, even though it could get the A-lee-sha pronunciation.

If you want people to say it as Al-ee-see-a, I would go with [name_f]Aleecia[/name_f] or Aleesia.

[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]

I would spell it [name_f]Alisia[/name_f], but the [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] spelling looks best even though to me that would be A-lee-sha or A-li-see-a

[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]

You might be able to do [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] which is a name and I believe has been pronounced the way you’re looking for but it may be pronounced ah-leh-see-ah as well

I think for what you’re looking for [name_f]Alyssia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alysia[/name_f] could also work

I think your spelling of Aleesia could also work but I did first read it as A-lee-see-a rather than Al-ee. I also don’t love the double e, it looks a little off to me but maybe that’s because I’m so used to the [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]

Maybe write out all the possible spellings and do a poll on here where people can only pick 1 name option for which spelling suits the prononciation. That way you can see what majority of people say. Put an other other too and people can comment alternative spellings for you!

Probably [name_f]Elisia[/name_f]
