How to spell this name?!

I really like the name ahn-uh-leese, but I have no clue how to spell it! I feel like using [name]Annelise[/name] or any other spelling with two N’s will get it said like “ann” but I’m concerned with using something like [name]Analise[/name] because of the first four letters. Is there any good way to spell this? I’m at a loss.

Also, wondering if anyone has any suggestions of names that begin with ah-nuh. I really love the sound of that name, but would prefer something a little longer than [name]Ana[/name]. Thanks!

[name]Anelise[/name] maybe?

Haha. I do commiserate with you on the [name]Analise[/name] spelling. It’s the exact reason I use the [name]Annelise[/name] spelling myself. I guess if you want to go phonetic you could try Onalise, but it still looks like it’s misspelled or kr8tively spelled. I would just stick with [name]Annelise[/name]. I think most people would recognize it, and usually if you do have to correct someone, you only have to do it once.

My college roommate was named [name]Analisa[/name] and as far as I know no one ever commented on the first four letters thing. I personally don’t think it’s that big of a deal as the pronunciation is completely different and the commonly used nicknames wouldn’t even contain all of the letters (my roommate went by both [name]Ana[/name] and [name]Lise[/name] among friends).

That being said, I vastly prefer [name]Analise[/name] to [name]Annelise[/name] which to me looks like it’s trying too hard and I would be more inclined to pronounce it [name]Ann[/name]-uh-leese instead of [name]Ahna[/name]-leese.

[name]Annelise[/name] or [name]Anelise[/name] would be your choice.

Other ‘[name]Ana[/name]’ names:
[name]Anabelle[/name]/[name]Anabel[/name]
Anabeth
[name]Anabella[/name]
[name]Anastasia[/name]
[name]Analee[/name]/[name]Analeigh[/name]
Anaka (usually spelt [name]Anika[/name]. [name]Both[/name] sound exactly the same- [name]Ahna[/name]-kuh)
Analila ([name]Ahna[/name]-lee-luh or [name]Ahna[/name]-lil-uh)
[name]Anamarie[/name]/a

[name]Anneliese[/name] (anna-leeza) is the spelling I’d use but that won’t help your pronunciation issue  I’ve never heard it pronounced ‘ah-na-leese’ before. [name]Even[/name] when the last ‘a’ gets lopped off in English I still hear ‘anna-leese’.

I really loved this name as an option for my last baby before we found out he was a boy. We were stationed in Germany at the time so I was talking to my brother over instant messenger and was telling him the top names for a boy and top names for a girl.

When I sent [name]Analiese[/name]/[name]Analise[/name] through, he asked how to pronounce it and told me that when he said it out loud, all he could hear was anal ease. Crossed it off pretty fast. lol.

I have only seem it spelled [name]Anneliese[/name], but I suppose [name]Annelise[/name] would work as well. I wouldn’t spell it [name]Analise[/name] even if it didn’t make a word you don’t want in a name.
