I totally see the appeal…however, it does have that Addams Family hangover…so, overall, I give it an 8 out of 10 …NB it would be 10/10 if the [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]-Addams Family association wasn’t so strong ~ otherwise a great name!!
Completely unusable
I have the same feelings toward week names as I do month names. They’re just really corny. 2/10
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] as a name. It doesn’t feel very name-like to me, it’s also majorly associated with the dark character of [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] Addams. I also think of the poem Monday’s Child.
[name_f]Monday[/name_f]'s child is fair of face,
[name_f]Tuesday[/name_f]'s child is full of grace,
[name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]'s child is full of woe,
Thursday’s child has far to go,
Friday’s child is loving and giving,
[name_m]Saturday[/name_m]'s child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the [name_m]Sabbath[/name_m] day
Is fair and wise and good in every way
I’d say about a 5/10. There are strong associations, and some teasing potential but I don’t think it’s horrible. People [name_m]WILL[/name_m] think she’s named after [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] Addams and assume you’re the type of person who would choose to do that, not necessarily negative but something to be aware of.
I imagine it as a name a child would hate and grow to appreciate by adulthood. I personally wouldn’t use it, based on potential jokes along the lines of “it’s going to rain on [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]” or worse “the guest speaker is coming on wednesday” etc.
But if I heard it on someone else, I’d think it was kind of cool.
