Your name style reminds me of what a woman who has went to school abroad in Europe and gets very cultured and has a lot of books, a socialite in the years of the [name_m]Othman[/name_m] Empire in Istanbul/Constantinople (the style… around 1840-1914) would choose for her children. I mean, your whole way of speaking and u/c style is somehow like this too, very elegant but of other cultures-feel, very old?
Classic/traditional + Catholic Grandma/Grandpa names…but also a hint of soft nature hippie/medieval fantasy.
Overall I’d say Latino Grunge. Lots of names from languages that are and influence my culture (Spanish, Taíno, Arabic, Basque, Catalan, Yoruba, etc), but names thats have a bit of a moody, wet, grungy, sparkly, elegance to them. For girls I tend to like names with a dark feminine vibe, for boys I usually like dark, historical with a modern edginess to them.
For boys ~
For girls ~
Might come back to this and do a moodboard
Mostly cottagecore, vintage and Welsh/Cornish. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite emojis to go with my style are:

[name_f]My[/name_f] style is pretty far-reaching, so overall if I had to use one word: eclectic
I like romantic, bold names that strike me with vivid imagery. I also like to dress up classics with out-there middles. [name_u]Nature[/name_u], historical, and literary references are also my cup of tea. Nicknames are also important to me.
[name_f]My[/name_f] style is hard defined and stays evolving
This made my day! Such a beautiful description
Telegraph birth announcements with a hint of fantasy literature
or, literary, mythological, medieval, a little outlandish at times, and unavoidably [name_f]British[/name_f]
In general I like:
- [name_m]Long[/name_m] names that have lots of options for nicknames
- Names with unique/fun letters (I, V, W, X, Y, Z)
- Rare/Underused names below the top 700
- Movie/Place names
[name_f]Girl[/name_f] Names: 🪼:earth_americas:
🩷:yellow_heart:
- [name_u]Strong[/name_u] feminine names suited for a musician or sci-fi character
[name_m]Boy[/name_m] Names: 🩵:blue_heart:
- Names suited for a surfer or 80’s/90’s teen rom com character
[name_m]Classic[/name_m], sweet, ever so slightly boring. [name_u]Strong[/name_u], confident girls with bit of sparkle
i think my naming style matches with my personal (or at least, ideal) style/aesthetic/values:
beachy, summery, whimsical, musical
Berries, I loved reading your responses. I do not have a style right now at all and it is a very confusing and weird period for me, so I really am happy to get some help by reading your answers.
I realised that @the_common_fool @acajou @persephonescrown have some of the names that I am mostly interested in (in order of closeness to my tastes), so if you do not mind I will take some inspirations from them, if you do not mind. I also loved some of the influences of @marysia
I like strong, epic, confident and handsome sounding names for boys. They should have a touch of celestial, whimsical vibe as well. Think Archangels and Quenya, mythology, legends and epic fantasy novels. I also love some more classical names for boys (9/10 still was a name of a king ).
Short story long - mythology (all of them), epic tales and legends. Beowulf, Kalevala, Kalevipoeg, Arthurian legends, Elder Edda, Nibelung, The song of Roland, Shakespear. We are talking dragons, cursed rings and swords that have a name. Medieval kings and knights, Vikings, fantasy literature/ movies (think for example Game of Thrones, The Witcher, Lord of the Rings). Also anything to do with angels (Archangel names
), religion. I like the ones that make you think ‘gentleman, old money, has a yacht and a castle’ or ‘an epic king straight from an Arthurian legend’. J.R.R Tolkien’s Quenya names.
For girls I like either strong, epic names with an ethereal feel or names that sound vintage, frilly and whimsical. LOVE Quenya names for girls or names that sound kinda sexy, mysterious and perhaps a little bit gothic or futuristic. They make you think ‘a vampire’ or ‘a villain’. Also love some adorable sounding names, cottagecore and French names
Short story long - Greek and Nordic mythology, epic tales and legends. Medieval queens, fantasy literature/ movies (think for example Game of Thrones, The Witcher, Lord of the Rings). Ethereal Quenya names; vintage leaning slightly frilly; names that sound dreamy and princessy. I especially looove the ones that make you think ‘afternoon tea in a rose garden, fairies, princesses wearing sparkling pastel gowns and lace ribbons, pegasus munching the rose petals or perhaps a heard of unicorns drinking from a lake under the pale moonlight’ . I also love the ones that make you think ‘an epic warrior queen’ or ‘a gorgeous Anglo-Saxon princess wearing a jewelled hairnet. She might have a sword that she hides from his father. She just might save the kingdom one day by slaying the dragon herself ’. I’m also vibing with names that are almost like an opposite of the ‘Sugarplum Fairy’ vibe, but in the same font. Like a gothic frilly princess moment or a witchy vibe. These names make you think of vampires and villains. Maybe a name for a gorgeous evil queen. Also loving some names that have an adorable feel or a lovely cottagecore vibe or names that sound whimsical and French. These names make you think of Astrid Lindgren novels, Mary Poppins, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Bridgerton, Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.
Sorry for all the edits, I just can’t figure out how to deal with my autocorrect and long nails.
