Back with a minor name-change dilemma! I’ve been thinking about [name]Astrid[/name] lately, and I really love it, but I’m a little worried I don’t “look the part”. I’m part European and part Asian, but look predominately as though somebody’s smooshed [name]America[/name] Fererra & [name]Jenna[/name] Ushkowitz together, added a dash of [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Cruz[/name], then aged that combo down to a teenager.
So the question is, would you expect an [name]Astrid[/name] to be a tall blonde Scandinavian-Viking-type girl, or could you see her being a short brunette bookworm?
Fun fact: [name]America[/name] Fererra was the voice of [name]Astrid[/name] in [name]How[/name] To Train Your Dragon!
I imagine an [name]Astrid[/name] being exactly like [name]Astrid[/name] from Fringe simply because that’s the only [name]Astrid[/name] I can think of. I really think that as long as you love the name and feel like you can own it, it will suit you perfectly!
I can deffinetly see [name]Astrid[/name] as a short book worm. It makes a bit more sense to me then the [name]Uber[/name] Viking (since the only [name]Astrid[/name] I know is a short brunette!)
If I had to guess, tall and pale but dark-haired. No, I don’t see it as deserving of being left in [name]Sweden[/name].
I’ve noted before my weakness for names with certain striking sounds. A lesser case of that is girls’ names ending in D.
My first thought when I hear [name]Astrid[/name] is always [name]Astrid[/name] Appels, my favourite equestrian photojournalist. She is a brunette from Belgium- I’ve attached a link of her picture. So no, I wouldn’t find a non-Scandinavian [name]Astrid[/name] weird or think it doesn’t work. But if I heard of an [name]Astrid[/name] I would probably assume she was tall and blond.
