We have been pronouncing it [name]Ad[/name] e lie a. We like the sound of that but don’t want this name to be mispronounced. Is that how you pronounce this name [name]Adeliah[/name]/[name]Adelia[/name]
[name]Ad[/name]-e-leah or uhdehleeah
I would probably think uh-[name]DEE[/name]-leeuh. But I’m rubbish at name pronouncing so…
Like [name]Adele[/name] with an eeeuh ending, so A-dell-eee-uh
uh-dee-lee-uh
T
Then how would you spell the other name…[name]Ad[/name] e lie a?
I’m still confused as to how you say [name]Adelia/name. The word “lie” sounds like lye, but most names ending in -lie ([name]Natalie[/name], [name]Adelie[/name], [name]Maelie[/name], [name]Julie[/name], [name]Aurelie[/name], [name]Lillie[/name], etc.) have the [name]LEE[/name] sound. [name]Do[/name] you want [name]LEE[/name] or LYE?
I say it more like ah-DEEL-ee-ah/ah-DEEL-yah. I think [name]Adelia[/name]'s pretty; I’ve always liked it. The “H” on the end makes it seem trendy and trashy to me, though, sorry.
Well I’ve always pronounced [name]Adelia[/name] (uhdell-ee-uh). I actually really don’t like pronouncing it (ah-dee-leea)
If you are wanting ad-ell-EYE-uh, I would probably go for something like Adellia, although again, that could be pronounced ah-[name]DELL[/name]-ee-uh. This is the problem with making names up, I find - it’s so hard to get what you want exactly right! Good luck.
I know a girl named [name]Adelia[/name] and she pronounces it Uh-deal-ee-uh
Yes, it would be closer to that… [name]Ad[/name] ell eye uh. I probably have confused everyone further with my attempt to pronounce it. It is like the Spanish name [name]Atalaya[/name] which is pronounced just like that except with a t instead of a D.
I pronounce it ah-[name]DEAL[/name]-yaa
Maybe spell it Adalaya then. Or Adelaia/Adalaia? Sort of like a smoosh of [name]Adele[/name] and [name]Alaia[/name]. Or you could do something like [name]Adela[/name] [name]Lorelei[/name] “Adalaia”?
I’d pronounce it like [name]Delia[/name] with an Uh- on the front - Uh-deel-ee-uh.
