How would you pronounce Alethea?

I am really liking the name [name]Alethea[/name]. But I was just wondering how you would pronounce it. Nameberry says “[name]Alicia[/name] with a lisp.” But you can pronounce [name]Alicia[/name] different ways. I have known one and she pronounced it aEH-lee-tha, which I love. Also what do you think of the combo [name]Aletha[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]? I really like that the two together essentially mean “true happiness”…And on the plus side the SO really likes the combo too! Please let me know your opinion. Thanks in advance!

I think it means you say it ah-[name]LEETH[/name]-ee-uh, though I’d say it al-LETH-ee-uh. But, honestly, I think you could get away with using any pronunciation, it’s not very common at all so there’ll be few preconceptions about how it’s said. It’s a sweet name, I used to love it a few years back

I can’t say I love [name]Felicity[/name], but the meaning is gorgeous and if you love it you should go for it!

I would pronounce [name]Alethea[/name] as [name]Al[/name]-eh-thee-uh. I also like just plain [name]Althea[/name] ([name]Al[/name]-thee-uh) and I love [name]Felicity[/name]

I know an [name]Alethea[/name]. She pronounces it ah-[name]LEE[/name]-thee-uh.

sorry everyone, but how do you make a post!!! and I’d pronounce it: al-ee-thee-a

There’s a school around here by that name, and it’s pronounced uh-[name]LEE[/name]-thE-uh.

We have a Bible Study at our church called this and they say “uh-[name]LAY[/name]-thee-uh”. Although I think they may spell it [name]Aletheia[/name]. It’s a very pretty name!

Uh-[name]LEE[/name]-thee-uh.

I actually know a little girl by this name, and she goes by “[name]AH[/name]-[name]LAY[/name]-THEE-[name]AH[/name]”

Beautiful name! She will have a lot of people mis-pronouncing or having to have pronunciation corrected, but I think it’d be worth it for such a beautiful name!
