As the title says, how would you pronounce [name_f]Alysia[/name_f]? Particularly interested in opinions based on just seeing the name.
Like the British version of [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] (ah-lee-see-uh).
I would probably say [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-liss-ee-uh. But I wouldn’t be 100% positive
I would pronounce it [name_m]Al[/name_m]-ees-ia
Probably [name_m]Al[/name_m]-ee-see-uh, now that I know [name_f]Elysia[/name_f] is said [name_f]El[/name_f]-ee-see-uh. But there is a part of me that wants to say [name_m]Al[/name_m]-iss-ee-uh.
Like [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] but with EE-[name_m]AH[/name_m] at the end instead of just [name_m]AH[/name_m]. So… [name_m]AH[/name_m]-LISS-EE-[name_m]AH[/name_m]. Like spelling out [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] phonetically.
uh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-see-uh
uh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-juh
I would say ‘[name_m]Ah[/name_m] leese e uh’
a-liss-ee-a would be my first guess. Or a-lisha I think of the y as generally being the sound like in [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], or [name_u]Lynn[/name_u].
I would pronounce it [name_f]Alice[/name_f]-cia
“ah-leej-ah” like [name_f]Elysia[/name_f]
Probably I would pronounce it: [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-lee-see-ah.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-Leej-[name_m]Ah[/name_m]? I’ve never seen it before, though (:
I’m the same as this [name_f]Elysia[/name_f] is ‘el-lee-see-ah’ for me. [name_f]Alysia[/name_f] is the same, but with an “ah” at the front.
The [name_f]Alysia[/name_f] I met pronounced it uh-lee-see-ah. (“ah” and “uh” are fairly similar in my somewhat flat accent and somewhat interchangeable. [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] would be “uh-liss-ah”, for comparison.)
Thanks berries. I pronounced it [name_m]Al[/name_m] (el)-lee-see-ah but I had never heard the name before so wondered how others would pronounce it. Obviously there is a ‘correct’ way, but that isn’t necessarily the same as the common way.
I’d assume you liked [name_f]Elysia[/name_f] but wanted an A- instead of an E- sound.
uh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-zhee-uh
