[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
I understand it has 3 or even 4 legitimate pronunciations. I however favor one of them, and I am worried about it constantly being said wrong (much like my name is always pronounced wrong)
[name_m]Just[/name_m] let me know below what your first instinct pronunciation would be.
Loo-chee-a as it was a friend’s middle name and that’s how she pronounced it. I would be open to corrections though, as I know there are a variety of ways to pronounce it.

Loo-see -ah, probably, but I have a friend who pronounces Loo-thea, so that’s how I tend to read it.

Loo-see-ah - Most Central/South [name_u]America[/name_u] (And the way I say it)
Loo-thea - Spain
Loosh-a - Maybe Caribbean islands and anyone that relates it to St [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
Loo-chee-ah - Italian I think
This is the way I kind of breakdown the name’s pronunciation.

First attempt would be loo-SEE-uh, followed by LOO-shuh and loo-CHEE-uh.

loo-see-uh is how I always say it in my head first. [name_f]My[/name_f] next thought would be loo-shuh, followed by loo-chee-uh.

Loo-see-ah, but I’ve only ever known Italians called [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] so that might influence it

Based on where I live my instinct would be loo-see-a

loo-SEE-uh, because that’s my preferred pronunciation. The only one I’ve known was LOO-sha though.

Loo-see-uh. But I’d probably ask since there’s a ton of pronunciations, like you mentioned.

The only [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] I’ve ever met pronounced it loo-shuh. Although, I assumed it was pronounced loo-see-uh before I met her.
