how would you pronounce the girl’s name sela/selah? i’ve seen it both [name]SAY[/name]-la and SEE-la…
See-la
Sell-ah
[name]Sela[/name]: Like [name]Stella[/name] without the T
[name]Selah[/name]: Seh-[name]LAW[/name]
See-la, but the others seem valid too.
I was actually looking this one up the other day. I pronounce [name]Sela[/name] like See-la, like [name]Sela[/name] [name]Ward[/name], but Nameberry lists them both like Seh-la.
The actress [name]Sela[/name] [name]Ward[/name] pronounces it like See-La so that is how I’ve always said it.
[name]SAY[/name]-luh, though I could be convinced of SEH-luh. SEE-la just doesn’t work in my mind…
I would say Seh-lah, like [name]Stella[/name] without the T.
I’d choose [seh-lah], myself. I really like it!
[name]Lemon[/name]
[name]Sela[/name] is an Hebrew name than means “rock” and is traditionally pronouned “see-la”. But it’s really a matter of preference. It’s a soft, lovely name for a girl!
SEE-lah, but [name]SAY[/name]-lah would also work, too.
