[name]Andrea[/name]? I’ve heard it said so many different ways, and most people pronounce it a certain way because they knew/know someone with the name that pronounces it one way, so I’m just curious! I have always pronounced it [name]Anne[/name]-[name]Dree[/name]-[name]Ah[/name] because it’s my sisters name. I love the name and would use it if it wasn’t her name
[name]Anne[/name]-dree-ah or [name]Anne[/name]-dray-ah are the two I hear the most often.
I say [name]ANN[/name]-dree-uh, but I’m never surprised at the other pronunciations.
AN-dree-uh or an-DRAY-a. With AN-dree-uh, I think the [name]Andria[/name] spelling is more obvious.
I know an [name]ANN[/name]-dree-uh, an [name]Ann[/name]-dray-uh, an Ahn-DRAY-uh and an AHN-dree-uh. I think my natural inclination is [name]ANN[/name]-dree-uh but like the previous poster said, I’m never surprised by something else.
I would most instinctively pronounce it ahn-DRAY-uh, because the only person I’ve ever really known in real life with that name pronounced it that way, but before I met her I pronounced it like [name]ANN[/name]-dree-uh
[name]ANN[/name]-dree-uh or ahn-DRAY-uh, depending on how the bearer of the name wants it pronounced.
Where I live, it’s pronounced ahn-DREH-a, and where I’m from, most people pronounce it AND-ree-ya.
Of all the [name]Andrea[/name]'s I have met, they pronounce their name like this:
An [name]DREE[/name] ah
I know both an [name]Ann[/name]-dree-uh and an On-dray-uh
As a girls name, [name]ANN[/name]-dree-uh
For a boy, on-DRAY-uh
I would say [name]Anne[/name]-[name]Dree[/name]-[name]Ah[/name] unless otherwise corrected
I’d say [name]Anne[/name]-DRE-ah, but that is the Swedish pronunciation
ann-dree-uh or awn-dray-uh
american accent or english accent
I would say [name]ANN[/name]-dree-uh instinctively for a woman, as that’s the standard pronunciation in my area. I don’t like the Ahn-DRAY-uh way at all, it sounds too nasal to me. Though I know when it’s used as an Italian boys name it’s said differently.
It’s my aunt’s name as well!
We say it An-dree-ah, but her sister calls her [name]Drea[/name] prn Dray-[name]Ah[/name] as a nickname from time to time.
I also knew another [name]Andrea[/name] who said it Awn-Dray-Uh.
[name]Both[/name] are legitimate, so I guess it’s just preference.
I grew up with an ann-DRAY-uh but even still, [name]Ann[/name]-dree-uh makes more sense to me.
