I would spell it [name]Annabel[/name]. But if you have [name]Belle[/name] to honor spelling it [name]Annabelle[/name] is fine too!!
I like [name]Annabel[/name]. Less frilly but still girlie. [name]Love[/name] it’s sweet simplicity. Also I love the nn [name]Annie[/name] but dislike [name]Bella[/name]. With this spelling it veers a llittle bit away from [name]Bella[/name]. So
annabel gets my vote!
My daughter’s name is [name]Annabel[/name]. We chose it very purposefully, but I think that [name]Annabelle[/name] is also a solid, valid choice. We picked [name]Annabel[/name] for a few reasons. 1)It feels more like one name than two smashed together. 2)Its roots are closer to [name]Amabel[/name], which stems from amiable. The lovable meaning is awesome (and totally fits our daughter). 3)I’m an English teacher and dig literary names. She’s not named after [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Lee[/name] and someday, in 10th grade, she’ll realize it and ask us why we named her for a doomed character, but it’s still poetic.
A few things we’ve encountered:
She does get mistaken for [name]Annabelle[/name], but not as much as you’d think. I bet if you went with [name]Annabelle[/name], you’d have people assume she was [name]Annabel[/name].
We weren’t sure what we were going to call her, but were okay with whatever came out. Sometimes she’s a “Somethingbel.” Her grandma and uncle call her [name]Annie[/name]. She sometimes calls herself [name]Annie[/name], but usually [name]Annabel[/name]. Her borther will occasionally utter an [name]Anna[/name]. It’s a name that seems to invite manipulation. We’re fine with any, but if you’re not, it’s something to consider.
Whatever you decide, best of luck. We’ve never once regretted the name and we couldn’t imagine anything that would fit her personality more perfectly.
Tough choice between [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name]. I chose [name]Annabel[/name] because it seems simple and sweet. It kind of pulls away from all the [name]Belle[/name]/[name]Bella[/name] names that are so popular, at least in appearance.
I would use [name]Annabel[/name]. I think YOU should use [name]Annabelle[/name] to honor your great aunt. [name]Anabelle[/name] looks odd to me.
I prefer the [name]Annabel[/name] spelling - simple, less frilly. When I first heard the name when I was a youngster, it was in [name]Edgar[/name] [name]Allan[/name] [name]Poe[/name]'s poem “[name]Annabel[/name] [name]Lee[/name]”. For me, [name]Annabel[/name] is quintessentially British while [name]Annabelle[/name] is French. [name]Annabelle[/name] just looks overdone to my eyes. It also looks like a smoosh of two names (Anna and Belle) rather than a full name (Annabel).
I voted [name]Annabelle[/name] because I prefer the nickanme [name]Belle[/name] to [name]Anna[/name] / [name]Annie[/name], and I think that [name]Belle[/name] is easier gotten from [name]Annabelle[/name] than [name]Annabel[/name], also I dislike the look of [name]Anabelle[/name] because it looks like something is missing and it would probably get misspelt even more than [name]Annabelle[/name] / [name]Annabel[/name] would.
It depends on which pronunciation you prefer. I pronounce [name]Annabel[/name] [name]ANN[/name]-abelle, and [name]Annabelle[/name] as anna-[name]BELLE[/name]. I like [name]Annabel[/name] the most.
Out of your choices I would choose [name]Anabelle[/name] but, If I were personally choosing a spelling I would use [name]Anabel[/name].
[name]Anabel[/name] I don’t like fussy extra letters
Well:
[name]Annabelle[/name]-Too frilly for my liking but if you want a strong connection to the family then this is a good option. I always think it looks like [name]Anna[/name] [name]Belle[/name].
[name]Anabel[/name]/[name]Anabelle[/name]-The [name]Ana[/name] bit justs looks not very good to me because it has bad connections.
[name]Annabel[/name]-This is my favourite. It doesn’t look incomplete but also not too frilly.
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!
[name]Annabelle[/name] because the name feels frilly to me and this spelling reflects that.
I also love that the “b” is surrounded by two different pallandroms.
[name]Annabel[/name] because I like the [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Lee[/name] association.
I prefer [name]Annabelle[/name] because I think it looks best and is the spelling people will likely use unless told to spell it otherwise. I think [name]Annabelle[/name] or [name]Annabel[/name] would be fine and are both commonly accepted, but the single -n spelling is awkward to me and unfortunately looks like the word anal.
I say [name]Annabel[/name], because [name]Annabelle[/name] looks so frou frou and stuffy to me. [name]Annabel[/name] is still feminine and dainty without overdoing it.
[name]Annabel[/name] - I think [name]Annabelle[/name] is unnecessarily frilly.
