I don’t think it looks nice spelled [name]Leela[/name] or [name]Lela[/name]. I like [name]Lila[/name] but I know it’ll be pronounced lie-la constantly. Any thoughts berries?
I would go with the [name]Lela[/name] spelling. I think it looks cute. [name]Leela[/name] looks off to me and anything else ([name]Leila[/name], [name]Lila[/name] etc.) would have a different pronunciation. I guess [name]Lelah[/name] would work too, but I don’t really like the look of it.
[name]Leela[/name].
[name]Leila[/name].
[name]Leela[/name]. I feel that that pronunciation has the least chance of getting mispronounced as lay-lah. Besides, that’s how they spell it on “Futurama”.
Honestly, I’d spell it [name]Lila[/name]. It would be pronounced Lie-la a lot, but that’s the way it’s usually spelled (though it is occasionally spelled [name]Leela[/name], I think for pronunciation reasons.) In Sanskrit, [name]Lila[/name] ([name]LEE[/name]-la) roughly translates to “play.” In Hinduism, it’s the concept of a playful and joyous universal reality- sort of the gods saying, “why so serious?” It’s a pretty happy idea.
[name]Lelah[/name]…or Liela (sort of like ‘[name]Liesel[/name]’, pr. ‘[name]Lee[/name]-sell’)…just an idea there!
I think [name]Lela[/name]/[name]Lelah[/name] looks best, and it won’t get confused with [name]Lila[/name] (’[name]Ly[/name]-la’).
I personally do not like the way [name]Leela[/name] looks. Leighla looks like ‘[name]Lay[/name]-la’ to me, and [name]Leala[/name] may mispronounced with an extra ‘a’ on accident.
Best of luck!!
