How would you spell these names?

Hello Berries

I’m revamping my list (not TTC) and have recently come across a few names I really love, but am unsure which spellings I should use. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer:

[name_u]Rowen[/name_u] or [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]? Would you spell it differently if it was for a boy or girl? (To me, [name_u]Rowen[/name_u]/[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is wonderfully unisex).

[name_m]Reuben[/name_m], [name_m]Rueben[/name_m], or [name_m]Ruben[/name_m]? I’m most fond of spelling this one as [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], but can see the appeal in the other two spellings.

[name_f]Teagan[/name_f] or [name_f]Tiegan?[/name_f] I like both, and every time I think I’ve found a favourite I ‘rediscover’ the other! I feel like [name_f]Tiegan[/name_f] looks prettier, but [name_f]Teagan[/name_f] might be easier for pronunciation.

Also, do you have any alternative spellings for the ones above that you would recommend?

Thank you all

I think I would use [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] if it was a boy and [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] if it’s a girl, although i think most other people would go with the opposite. I prefer the [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] spelling over all.

I also like the [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] spelling.

I would go with [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] because it is the traditional spelling. However, I see the appeal of [name_m]Rueben[/name_m] because it’s a more natural way to get the nick name [name_u]Rue[/name_u]. [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] looks like its missing something.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though I dislike [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] and would never use it (I have a bad association with it and it’s nms), [name_f]Tiegan[/name_f] looks misspelled and very unappealing. When I first read it I pronounced it like the word Tie… So Definitely [name_u]Teagan[/name_u].

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] for a boy. Neither for a girl imo cuz it seems to masculine to me, but if you were to use it, [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] for a girl as well

[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] seems more classic but I kind of like [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] more

[name_u]Teagan[/name_u] (although I’m not a fan)

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] regardless of gender. [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] is also really nice, but that version I’d only use on a boy.

I don’t think the ue version looks like it’s spelled properly. I prefer the [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] version. If I were to marry someone of Hispanic or Latin descent though, and we were gonna name our son this, I’d go with [name_m]Ruben[/name_m].

I’ve never seen any other way of spelling [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] until this post. The tie version an interesting alternative. And I do think it would make me want to pronounce it “tie” instead of “tee”.

First two i like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] better than [name_u]Rowen[/name_u]. Alternately [name_m]Ive[/name_m] spelled it Rhowynn (more of a fantasy vibe) still unisex.
I like [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] the best personally. [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] makes me think of the sandwich.
I prefer [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] to Teigan but i went to school with a [name_u]Tegan[/name_u]. still pronounced the same, just a little simpler.

I prefer [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and while it is a boys’ name to me, for a girl, I’d spell it [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] while for a boy I can see both spellings working nicely.

[name_m]Ruben[/name_m], just because [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] doesn’t make any sense to me pronunciation wise and the original Hebrew name sounds rather different (but then I also don’t get how [name_f]Rea[/name_f] equals [name_u]Rae[/name_u] and makes the same “ray” sound); [name_m]Rueben[/name_m] doesn’t seem to be a legit variation and since [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] also is the most international of the three, that’s what I prefer.

[name_u]Teagan[/name_u] would be my preferred spelling, [name_f]Tiegan[/name_f] looks like the parents wanted to get to [name_m]Ty[/name_m]-gen.

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m]
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u] - what are your thoughts on [name_u]Tegan[/name_u]?

[name_m]Just[/name_m] going down the list, my preferences are [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (which I wouldn’t use for a girl), [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], and [name_u]Teagan[/name_u]. They’re the ones that feel most traditional to me, which is what I usually consider most when trying to pick a name spelling.

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] for a girl but I am liking [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] for the NN possibility Wen and [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] for a boy.
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m], for sure!
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u] or [name_u]Tegan[/name_u].
