…the name “[name]Kale[/name]”? I like spelling names correctly and not going with unique spellings, but I’ve seen this name spelt so many different ways, I’m not sure which is best.
[name]Kale[/name], [name]Cale[/name], [name]Kael[/name], or [name]Cael[/name]???
[name]How[/name] you spell it depends on how you want to pronounce it and where you live.
[name]Kale[/name] - This is the Hawaiian form of [name]Charles[/name] and is pronounced “KAH-le”. I think most people would pronounce it as one syllable like “kayl”.
[name]Cale[/name] - “kayl” - Probably this would be the best option in order to avoid pronunciation issues. This is also a nn for [name]Caleb[/name].
[name]Kael[/name] - This looks too trendy to me and almost misspelled
[name]Cael[/name] - “kayl” or “keyl”. This is my favourite spelling. This spelling is from Irish mythology and it’s Celtic/Gaelic for “slender”. [name]Cael[/name] is also a unisex spelling, The only drawback to this spelling is that [name]Cael[/name] is the name of an adult learning website. For some reason, I’ve always preferred “C”'s to “K”'s.
I would go with [name]Cale[/name]. It looks the most like a name. With a few exceptions, like [name]Katherine[/name], C’s always look better than K’s for names.
One of my friends recently named her baby Khale and I was like “okhay, weird”. Since I’m vegetarian and eat lots of salads, I think of kale the leafy green. If you are going to use it (I wouldn’t!), please spell it with a C. There are plenty of [name]Kale[/name] alternatives though.
[name]Kyle[/name]
Kaylor
[name]Kyler[/name]
[name]Lake[/name] (hey, it’s better than [name]Kale[/name])
[name]Tate[/name]
[name]Cate[/name] (like the football players, somewhat obscure I know)
