How would you spell . . .

[name]Just[/name] wondering how you would pronounce the name “[name]Air[/name]-Uh-[name]Lee[/name]”. I just heard it on tv, but can’t think of how it would be spelled. If anyone has any ideas that would be great!

Thanks!

The first thing that comes to mind is [name]Aura[/name] [name]Lee[/name] (an [name]Elvis[/name] song, I believe), but that’s obviously prn Au-ra [name]Lee[/name], not [name]Air[/name]-a [name]Lee[/name], which is lovely. I’m looking forward to the answers you receive!

I’d probably spell it Aralee. Or Airalee?
There is always the name Auralie, which is similar.
I just wouldn’t spell it with the lee being [name]Leigh[/name], because Araleigh looks like a-[name]Raleigh[/name] to me.

Hmmm, well Aurelie is “aura-lee” and Ariel is often said “air-ee-elle”.

Perhaps Arilee? Airelie? Airalee. Aerilee? Arielie?

I have no idea. O.o That’s a very good question. It’s a really pretty sound.

EDIT: Oh, perhaps Arileigh, Aerileigh, Arieley, Airely, Aireley.

Hmm. I’m really liking Airelie or Airalee for this. Seems the most accurate without looking TO to made up. Aerilee is decent too.

I went as far as to rewind the show I was watching and turn on captioning to see what the producers said for the spelling . . . they left it out. Great help they are!

Thanks everyone!

[name]Glad[/name] I could help! What show is it? Maybe I could do some sleuthing to see what I find.

This is my daughters name… and i spelled it Aerilee… and i call her aerie .

Simplest seems to be Airily? Which is a word already, in any case.

Like blithely, casually, happily, airily. It is a word in the dictionary. It fits with names like [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Jessamy[/name], sort of. Not completely unlike [name]Verity[/name], except in suggested meaning.

Aralee, kind of like [name]Arabelle[/name]? I don’t love the look of it, though. I think Aerily/Aerilee is way cute.
