Hugh or...?

My grandfather’s middle name is [name_m]Huey[/name_m]. I’m not too fond of it though, and think [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] would be a good compromise to honor him!

What do you guys think about the spelling Hue, though? Yes, like a shade of color, but also [name_m]Huey[/name_m] with a dropped -y. Pregnancy hormones might just have me thinking a little crazy. Lol

I like [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] better… I knew a guy named [name_m]Hew[/name_m] once… Hue is just a “color” to me:)

Good luck!

Firstly, I think [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] works just fine in honoring your grandfather. Now, Hue… is interesting. As a middle name, it might give some nice ‘spunk’ to the name, but as a first name I think it’d be a little awkward, honestly.

@aren Yes, I’d definitely use it as a middle.

I like Hue as a middle BECAUSE of the color meaning. It definitely honors your Grandfather and has a neat almost nature-y feel. But [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is also a fine way to spell it. In the right combo, either could be great!

[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is great, though Hue also works since it would be a middle name.

I used to know someone called [name_m]Huw[/name_m]. I prefer [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] though.

I prefer [name_m]Hugh[/name_m].
