which do you prefer?
I much prefer [name]Hugo[/name] by far! [name]Hunter[/name] is a somewhat violent occupational name which leaves me cold! [name]Hugo[/name] is sophisticated and spunky all rolled into one and at the same time, it has a certain exotic European flair which is appealing. Sorry but [name]Hunter[/name] sounds kind of bland next to [name]Hugo[/name].
I prefer [name]Hugo[/name].
Actually, I prefer [name]Hugh[/name], but would go for [name]Hugo[/name] over [name]Hunter[/name].
I agree with this! I’ve always had a soft spot for just [name]Hugh[/name] but [name]Hugo[/name] is lovely of course. Besides [name]Hunter[/name]'s violent feel, he is also quite trendy and overdone, imo.
[name]HUGO[/name]!!! It’s a very cool name.
I think that decision comes down to your naming style. I think [name]Hunter[/name] is a very handsome name and I could definitely see myself with a son named [name]Hunter[/name]. If your style is towards modern contemporary style naming then [name]Hunter[/name] may be the way to go, otherwise the more vintage choice of [name]Hugo[/name] may suit more.
[name]Hugo[/name]'s charm is growing on me and now I feel comfortable with him but initially I did not.
rollo
Such totally different styles! I prefer [name]Hugo[/name] or [name]Hugh[/name], but don’t have anything against [name]Hunter[/name] if that’s your style.
[name]Hugo[/name]! [name]Hunter[/name] sounds too violent to me.
[name]Hunter[/name]. [name]Hugo[/name] sounds very stuffy to me.
[name]Hugo[/name]! [name]Hunter[/name] seems a bit dated to me.
Best wishes!
[name]Hugo[/name]. We gave an old math teacher we thought was weird a crude nickname based off of His surname [name]Hunter[/name]. Plus it sounds really violent.
I don’t get all the pp’s comments of [name]Hunter[/name] sounding violent. But maybe it is because I’ve been around hunting all my life? To me it is a sport done to put food on the table. Its not like the name is “Animal Killer” or something. My nephew’s name is [name]Hunter[/name], and I have a friend who just named her new little boy [name]Hunter[/name]. I think it is a great, strong name. But I do have a different perspective, I suppose.
I don’t dislike [name]Hugo[/name], it is not really my style, but I can see if becoming more popular, what with the movie that is out now and the stylistic similarities between it and today’s popular names. It seems right on par with today’s trend of going back to classic name choices.
I prefer [name]Hugo[/name]. I agree with the comments about [name]Hunter[/name] seeming dated, and I just find [name]Hugo[/name] to be much more interesting.
This sums up exactly how I feel!
I prefer [name]Hugh[/name] as well but I definitely prefer [name]Hugo[/name] to [name]Hunter[/name].
I loveeee [name]Hugo[/name]! [name]Hunter[/name] doesn’t appeal to at all, sorry!
[name]Hugo[/name] > [name]Hunter[/name].
[name]Hugo[/name] though I don’t have a problem with hunter and the hunting association but [name]Hugo[/name] sounds so good in French and englisg
Hunter sounds very trendy, Hugo is to me an uber-hipster name, up there with Arlo and Milo etc etc. I prefer Hunter. It has no violent conotactions to my ear and am surprised how many other posters have this strong reaction ( and for the record I am greatly turned off by this sport of hunting). It just sounds like a spunky boy, and hunky teen, or a good strong dad to me!
