Husband & Wife war to pick baby girl name. Help :-o!

oops. double post. see below.

I try not to reuse first names, but use mns as honour names.
That being said, I agree with previous posters about considering new names.
I suggest [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] - recognizable, but not popular.

Good luck in your name hunt!

I like [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]. [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] is very over used in my area and just feels stale.

This.

For one of my children, I wanted to name after a grandfather from each side (first and middle), but my husband said our child needed to have a name of his own. Partly because the name was getting overused in the family already, and partly because it just felt weird to him to call his child by the same name as another family member. Your husband may be thinking along a similar line of reasoning. We ended up selecting a name we both liked for first, and using both grandpa names in the middle. It was really the best and most diplomatic honor-name situation: there were no hurt feelings, and furthermore, BOTH extended families were ever so pleased with the choice. It just doesn’t get better than that where family opinion is concerned. If you don’t love [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], just keep looking until you find a name that you can both get behind. It might not even be anything that you would have picked on your own, or that he would have picked on his own, but what you come up with together will be more satisfactory than “winning” a name war in the long run. You’ll be glad you went to the time and effort!

From a mama working on naming #6. Best wishes to you and your husband!

I like the sound of [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]. But if you win you might have to let your husband name the next kid without complaint.

Other suggestions with the same vibe…
