I created amazing combo, Charlotte Verity then I found there’s another person with that name. I had no idea, until I googled just seconds ago.
Any alternative combo suggestions?

I think there’s always going to be someone with the same name combo, sorry! Especially such a lovely combo, it’s bound to have been thought of before.
If you wanted it to be more unusual, maybe swap them round and try [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]? I expect there are fewer Veritys around than Charlottes.
Unless you go way out to the fringes of name popularity, there will always be someone with the same name combo.
I found out last year that I share my first and last name with [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] Pere1ra, the CNN news anchor. I don’t think it matters much, and even though she’s relatively well-known, no one has ever commented on my name. So if the other [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is obscure, or even slightly popular (I know I haven’t heard of one) I doubt it will greatly affect the child.
Especially with a common name like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], there are going to be other people in the world with the same first and middle, maybe even last name. That doesn’t make [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] any less beautiful though, I say if you love it, keep it on your list.
I think its fine as long as you are not close friends or family who uses the name first. If its just some random person on the internet Im sure they will never meet.
It’s a very beautiful combination. The nature of names is that there will always be repeats. My sister is [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f], and I know another [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]. I also know two of quite a few combinations. But it doesn’t make the combination any less stunning. In fact (and lottagrace isn’t related at all to my real name) I know someone else with basically the same combination as my name!
It really doesn’t matter. I say absolutely keep it on your list, both [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (an absolute fave!) and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] are really pretty!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is pretty.
I hate to break it to you, but unless a name is very, and I mean VERY unique, then there will almost always be someone who they will share it with.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] alone tops the charts right now.
If you love it, use it!
I agree with the others that it’s almost impossible to come up with a completely unique combo. [name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] is even more uncommon than [name_f]Verity[/name_f], but I know there’s an artist with the name [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] out there. There have been a few [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] Ophelias in the world as well. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is gorgeous, so I wouldn’t let the fact that there’s another person with the name stop you from keeping it on your list.
(Although if you wanted to add another middle name, that would probably up the uniqueness factor.)
I agree with the others, I wouldn’t worry about it. With 7 billion people in the world, the odds are very likely that there will be somebody with the same first, middle, and even last name.
It would be very hard to find a truly original name, especially, with a first name as popular as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. If you love it, use it.
Not much original to add here, but I second just keeping the combo. When you look at the numbers - 10,048 [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] births last year, 59 [name_f]Verity[/name_f] - it’s pretty likely that someone else will have used this combination. If it really bothers you, I’d go with moving [name_f]Verity[/name_f] to first name status since it is far outside the top 1000, whereas [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a whopping # 10 and unlikely to fade in the immediate future. Or you could try buying Off the Grid [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Names and see if anything there catches your eye more than [name_f]Verity[/name_f].
Really though, the reality is that you could throw this name out in favor of the most obscure combination imaginable - and a year from now, three people could name their daughter the exact same thing. My favorite girls’ name was given to only seven infants last year, but for all I know, someone could be giving birth tonight in a hospital in South [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] and choose the exact combination I have in mind. You have no control over the matter, and it really isn’t likely to affect your daughter very much in the long run.
By all means change it if you decide you don’t like the combo itself for whatever reason, but I certainly wouldn’t let this be the deciding factor. I think you will very likely be disappointed.
I went to a pediatrics center as a child where they had another child with the same full name as me. I agree with pps it’s still a beautiful name but if you really want to avoid it [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is just as lovely.
I say stick with it. It’s not a common combo like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] or something.
I think you need to ask yourself…
Is this person famous? Famous enough that people will recognise the name on a daily basis.
Is this person likely to go to the same school as my daughter? Are they a similar age? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you live in the same area?
Are they likely to know each other?
If neither of these apply then I see absolutely no reason to use the name. There are billions of people in the world at any one time, the chances of someone having the same first and middle name as you is fairly likely but the chances of you ever coming across them other than on a Google search is very unlikely.
I wouldn’t let it bother you. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is a beautiful name that I’m sure any little girl would love.
With billions of people in the world, hardly any name will be unique. I think it’s fine, especially since you came up with it independently. Is it another berry? That can sometimes seem awkward as if one copied the other… But no one has the rights to any name, especially if you choose to share it online. I’ve had a few combos in my sig that I’ve come across with other berries ([name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] recently) but I didn’t think anyone copied me and I certainly didn’t copy anyone. I just thought, cool someone else likes the name too!
Anyway, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is definitely a keeper!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a top name in about 20+ countries, and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] isn’t overly uncommon in [name_m]Britain[/name_m], so it’s not surprising at all that you found another - I actually know a [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] as well. I’m sorry, but it’s really silly to scrap a name because someone else used it - you’ll forever be searching for a new name and you’ll never find one that will make you happy.
EDIT: I’d just like to add that, you also need to consider the odds of your future child meeting a person with the same name. If I’m living in Ireland with a baby named Sybil Alannah Jane, I’m even less likely to care if I read a story about a Sybil Alannah Jane living in Australia.
I’m with everybody else. As much as you try you won’t get a combo that only you have used. Chances are somebody else had the same combo before you even thought about it. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a top 10 name right now and it’s a classic choice, fairly popular over decades. There isn’t a lot of Veritys in USA but it isn’t unheard of in other countries, so it’s not that surprising that someone else has already used [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. You love the combo and that’s what matters. Use it. Your daughter won’t have problems with it.
Why scrap the combo just because of that? It’s damn near impossible to create a combo that absolutely no one else on the entire planet has.
My name is [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] W. I’m willing to bet you that there are at least 100 other women named [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] in the world at this very moment. And you know what? That’s totally fine.
With SO many people in the world of all ages, I hate to tell you but I think you will always fine SOMEONE with the same name combo. If they are in the same city or area as you, I understand the disappointment. However, if the person in question lives in a different area, region, country that’s another story. It is very difficult to find a name combo SOMEONE has’t used or doesn’t already have.
