My first LO (boy) is due this [name_f]September[/name_f] and I seem to dislike all boys names that I have seen.
OH wants him to be named after him, however, I have ruled this out and agreed to have it as a middle name - [name_m]Robert[/name_m]. Surname is two syllables.
Please make suggestions and even share your LO’s names! I had multiple girls names picked out but I am really struggling for a name for our little boy!
I loved [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and now I have been put off it by several people, nightmare! I like [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] but not [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], but fear it is too popular now where I live. [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] is cute but OH hates it!
I quite like [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], OH says it is OK but he is not 100%. I liked [name_m]Louis[/name_m] but he does not.
Girls names I liked were [name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_u]Penny[/name_u].
[name_u]Alfie[/name_u] is cute but is so popular where I live, same with [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_m]Archie[/name_m]. [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] is cute but OH does not like it. We both think [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is nice but neither of us are big enough on it to say yes 100%. Loved theo until recently when I have gone off it. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is baby cousin’s name so it is ruled out. So hard!!
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] or [name_m]Otis[/name_m], only like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] for a girl and [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is too old fashioned. I hate being so picky.
I guess I’ll do the same as pp and suggest the names in my signature lol.
I will have to disagree with you on [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] though. I love [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] but dislike [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]. But that is my opinion, i hope you find the perfect name!
[name_u]Darby[/name_u] - not personally a fan
[name_m]Albie[/name_m] - think it is very cute but OH isn’t fussed
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m] - my brother’s name
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] - friend’s baby
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m] - dislike
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] - dislike
[name_m]Harry[/name_m] - too popular now
[name_u]Bertie[/name_u] - 1 in family
[name_m]Eli[/name_m] - not fussed
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m] - dislike
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] - dislike
[name_m]Eben[/name_m] - never heard but not a fan
[name_m]Jonas[/name_m] - reminds me of the jonas brothers
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] - again bad reminder of something
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] - won’t go with surname
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] - not fussed
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] - really dislike
[name_m]Milo[/name_m] - could be a contender, not sure if OH will like it
[name_m]Jethro[/name_m] - dislike
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] - too old fashioned
I like unusual names, so my short list if I’m having a boy is as follows: [name_m]Macaulay[/name_m], [name_m]Makai[/name_m] (pronounced muh-ky), [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]/[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], [name_m]Gannon[/name_m], [name_m]Breaker[/name_m], [name_m]Thayer[/name_m] (see pronunciation on nameberry), and Revere.
Maybe coming at this from a different direction? find something that means something to you. a person, a place, something that you enjoy doing, or your SO enjoys doing. see if there is anything there that you could use to find a name.
You said you liked [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] for a girl, but how about for a boy? While I’m not a fan of [name_m]Robert[/name_m], I think [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] flows quite nicely. Also, I second [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m]. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] can 100% work on a grown man, I can see it on someone of any age.
Perhaps something from my signature might appeal to you? Since I’m not keen on alliterative names, I’ll leave off the R names as well as anything ending in R.
