I know I'm being technical ...

Okay. I know this isn’t urgent right now, but I want to settle this.
After discussing with all of you, it looks like we’re going with [name]Roma[/name] [name]Camille[/name], nickname, [name]Romilly[/name]/[name]Milly[/name].
Now, about the spelling. [name]Camille[/name] has the “e” at the end, but [name]Romilly[/name] looks funny Romillie. But my Grandma spells her name [name]Millie[/name]. Should her nickname spelling be [name]Milly[/name] to match [name]Romilly[/name] or [name]Millie[/name]? I think maybe the [name]Milly[/name] spelling, what do you think? Sorry if this is confusing!

I think [name]Milly[/name] makes sense (and then you can tell her and Grandma apart!)

Thanks so much for responding!! I think I agree, M-I-L-L-Y is the way to go!

I don’t think the spelling matters that much. I love [name]Millie[/name]/[name]Milly[/name]. If we have a girl, her name will be [name]Amelie[/name] (nn [name]Millie[/name]) even though the spellings (and even the pronunciation) are quite different.

[name]Milly[/name] for sure! Absolutely adorable

I like Romillie and [name]Romilly[/name] - sorry, that’s probably not much help.

My name is spelt with a C - [name]Nicola[/name]
but I spell my nn with a K - [name]Nikki[/name]

So I really don’t think it matters if the [name]Romilly[/name] ending is the same as the [name]Camille[/name] ending.

Thanks. I think maybe I will spell it with a “Y” ending, just to switch it up from my Grandma’s. Thanks for the feedback!!

It’s GOOD to be technical! I see you’ve decided to spell it [name]Milly[/name], which would have been my suggestion, because it makes the most sense to spell it that way, plus there is the added bonus of differentiation from her grandmother. I am of the school that “spelling counts!” and it really bothers me to find a [name]Catherine[/name] is nicknamed [name]Katie[/name] instead of [name]Catie[/name] for example. That’s just me. [name]Romilly[/name] ([name]Milly[/name]) is lovely, by the way.

I found my soul sister!! I totally agree with you. Sometimes it seems as though people don’t put much thought into things, and something as important as your baby’s name and the spelling…yeah, it’s important. Thanks for liking the name I picked out, I hope I don’t get sick of it.
