I have just found a top 10 I’m happy with but half of them are el names theres [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] as well as [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. Should I replace some of these with some of the other names I like which are [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] “[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]”, [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] “[name_f]Minka[/name_f]” and [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] but worry they would be called [name_f]Sera[/name_f] and [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] which I hate or is it ok to have a top 10 with five names too similar to ever use? Please help I am hopelessly confused especially since I’m used to not liking boys names as much but I’m in love with my boys names more then my girls names. Any other suggestions are welcome too.
[name_f]Ebony[/name_f]
Odds are you’re not going to end up with 10 daughters. The names that START with [name_f]El[/name_f] might be too similar to use together but I don’t think there would be anything wrong with a [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]/[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] sibset (for example).

I understand how you feel. I don’t love boys names as much as girls names, and I was looking at my girls names saying “This top ten isn’t right, I don’t like theses names as much anymore,” and redid my top ten. Realistically when you have children, like most of us, you are not going to have five children, let alone five children of the same gender (normally, some people do); let alone name them all an El name. I have names in my top ten that I would not use together (Tessa, Willa, Calista). If you love the names you have keep them. If you like Wilhelmina or Clementine better than the names you have, change it, but when you have children, you are not going to use all of the names you’ve collected (sadly, I would love to use them all).
As for Seraphina, it will probably not be shortened to Sera. I’ve never met a Seraphina but it is one of those names that no nickname is needed, like Alice or Veronica, unless you want one; and if you reinforce that her name is Seraphina, not Sera, people will get it (unless she decides she wants to be called Sera, which I can’t imagine with such a nice name). And Jessamine (which I love, btw) could be shortened to Jessie (which is not the greatest, though I like Jessa) if you reinforce Jessamine, not Jessie, it won’t stick. Also Jessamine could be Minny if you wanted, which is really cute.
