I have student in my class named [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]. I think it is a very wearable name with lots of cute nicknames. [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_u]Andy[/name_u], [name_f]Meda[/name_f] (pronounced Mee-duh).
They are so close to me but I would love to see [name_f]Antigone[/name_f] as a used name again-just not too popular!
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] is great. [name_f]Share[/name_f] your passion.
I absolutely adore [name_f]Antigone[/name_f], especially with the nickname [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. I just think that’s so awesome! But I just really don’t like [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] at all.
I also really like [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] (I think you can get the nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f] from this too), and [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] is… okay. Makes me think of swimming costumes before [name_u]Les[/name_u] Mis.
Is [name_f]Antigone[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] too much ‘t’ or too much literature for you? [name_m]Cos[/name_m] I’d prefer that more than either combo. If that doesn’t work, I still love [name_f]Antigone[/name_f], so I can overlook [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].
As a greek resident, I have to admit that ancient greek names are getting more and more popular lately!
Great choices that are still wearable in Greece include:
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Clio[/name_f]
[name_f]Antigone[/name_f]
Ismini
[name_f]Jocasta[/name_f] (Iokasti is the original spelling)
[name_f]Nephele[/name_f] (even as Nepheli or Nefeli)
[name_f]Danae[/name_f] (with a soft d as the “th” in “the”)
[name_f]Aris[/name_f]
[name_m]Hercules[/name_m]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] (original spelling is [name_f]Pinelopi[/name_f])
Ioli
[name_u]Demeter[/name_u] (the original spelling, [name_f]Dimitra[/name_f], is more beautiful though)
I’m Greek so I love Greek names. On my usable list I have:
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_f]Selene[/name_f]
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]
Cassiani ([name_u]Cass[/name_u]-ee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nee)
[name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Nephele[/name_f]/Nefeli
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
