[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] (but I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] too, and I call my little [name_f]Char[/name_f] by both [name_f]Char[/name_f] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] often)!
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f] (but ugh I adore [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] too—and of course am a big fan of [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] nicknamed [name_f]Kate[/name_f] also!)
@snowmaiden Thank you so much! I love all your choices. And I especially love the fact that you have a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] of your own and use [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] as a nickname!
I feel like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is so unexpected, although I do know someone who named her daughter that! (But it wouldn’t deter me from using this name in particular.) I’d love to meet a [name_f]Margot[/name_f] in real life someday, I don’t think I ever have!
I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] more and more as I sit with it, and I’ll always love [name_f]Nora[/name_f].
I feel similarly about [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f]! But I know several K@therines and K@ties, but no *just Kates.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or even [name_f]Maisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]! Although I think you could go for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and use [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and [name_m]Charlie[/name_m], too?
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] always and forever
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], although I always go between [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], myself
Of these, [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], although I’m not sure if I could pick between [name_f]Katharine[/name_f], [name_f]Katharina[/name_f], or just Kit…
lottie - my all time favourite name. i do love charlotte and charlie but they are so much more common nowdays!
elsie / eliza - love love love the sweetness of elsie, but i love the zippy-ness of eliza!
maybe margot - ok this next one was harddd. i love daisy and margot equally, but i have recently started loving greta too. molly and maggie are also names that i have always had a soft spot for so i really don’t know! in the end i think margot may slightly have it but if i could pick all of them i would!
leni - the others just don’t appeal to me, but nora would be the next best imo. leni is just so sweet! i am going to suggest elenoa and noa!
kate - i know a few people who are just kate and a lot of katherines, but i find kate so much sweeter! recently i have started liking the look of cate as well. i love the name katie too.
@Sailor22 Thank you so much! I love that you chose [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] late paternal grandfather’s name was E11is, and I was very close to him. I’ve thought of using [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] as an honor for him, but it would still be on my list if I didn’t use it for that reason because I love it!
I really love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] + [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] / [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]!
[name_f]Kate[/name_f] is simple, but spunky, and sweet
I love that you chose [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] + [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] too. I’ve thought of just using them together. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is so pretty!
@ashthedreamer Thank you so much! I think I could definitely use both [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] + [name_m]Charlie[/name_m] as nicknames for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. They’re both so cute, it’s hard to choose just one.
I know [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is becoming more popular, but popularity doesn’t bother me if I love a name. As long as I’m not close to someone who has already used a name, in the sense that I think it would bother them if I also used it, I’ll consider it. I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] so much, and I’ve only met two!
So I know, convention says that I shouldn’t use [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or like it because it doesn’t age well. But I (respectfully) strongly disagree with the idea that we always have to choose a formal name because others in our lives or the world think formal names age better or that an engineer named [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Sunday[/name_f], [name_m]Sam[/name_m] rather than [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], or [name_m]Archie[/name_m] won’t be taken seriously because of their name. This has taken me quite a while to learn. But I think the person makes the name.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is so beautiful and versatile, I love it so much! And all the variants of it are amazing, it’s so hard to choose, right?
[name_f]Katharine[/name_f] is such a pretty spelling!
@oakbelle Thank you so much! There is something so sweet and unexpected about [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]!
I think that [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] will always have my heart, even if I don’t end up using it. And, ironically enough, I went to school with a girl named Kat.ie (full name, it’s not short for anything) who named her second daughter Els.ie recently! I started liking the name because the baby is so cute!
With these next ones, you nailed the exact reason I included all of them here! I can see myself using any of them, and I love them all for different reasons! You’ve reminded me of another thread I was going to post with some questions about [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] v. a similar name that also love. I’ll probably make that one soon! Thank you for the reminder!
I’m really loving [name_f]Leni[/name_f] lately! It’s unexpected, very sweet, and gender-neutral. While I adore names like the others on this list that are so clearly feminine, I also think there’s something really fun about more ambiguous, gender-neutral names like [name_f]Frankie[/name_f], [name_f]Billie[/name_f], [name_f]Stevie[/name_f], [name_f]Sasha[/name_f], [name_m]Charlie[/name_m], and [name_m]Dylan[/name_m] on girls!
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Noa[/name_f] for a girl. Eleanoa is new to me, but it’s cute!
I love [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but find [name_f]Kate[/name_f] to be sweeter too! I feel like [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] can come out a little harshly when I personally say it because of the -er in the middle.
@dejectedpiglet Thank you so much! I love seeing [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] here! I think they are beautiful but I also like the fact that they’re both [name_m]German[/name_m] names, since my late grandma was [name_m]German[/name_m]. Both names also sound very international to me, and I like that too!
@somemelodioussonnet Thank you so much! I love that you chose [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] especially. I think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be adorable. I haven’t decided if if I would use it as a first and middle combination or a double name.
@daisymeadows Thank you so much! I love all your choices! Interestingly, I think [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], and [name_f]Leni[/name_f] all work really well with [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] as the middle name. I know most names work with that one, but since these options are a little outside the box, I think it’s cool that they all work with [name_f]Katherine[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_m]Arlo[/name_m].
I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] are my favorite of these options but I also think [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is a great way to honor M@rgaret since that is what it means.
I love a lot of these. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] would be my favorite but since you can’t use it I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I also love [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
@shanade213 Thank you so much! I think I will l always love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], whether I end up using it or not. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn. [name_m]Arlo[/name_m] is very cute, I’ve never thought of it as a nickname for it! And I always forget about [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] would be adorable. I know [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] are popular here on Nameberry, but I don’t personally know any. I do know someone who named her daughter [name_f]Greta[/name_f] though! 🩷 I just don’t know the little girl. And I don’t know what it is, but there’s just something so sweet about [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
I don’t know, I agree and disagree… I have met middle aged Zoes and I think it’s so stunning on a lady with silvering hair! And [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is a legit standalone name. I am a big proponent of full names, I like the versatility of the full name and nn, and I prefer the formality… especially if there truly is hire bias. But I can see your point. And at some point all these Ashley’s and Kylee’s and McKinzlie’s are going to grow up and be actual grandparents, society will adapt as they have for every other fad throughout history
