I’m back... still struggling & undecided

Husband & I had decided on the name [name_u]Auden[/name_u] for the baby boy we’re expecting… but now I’m not so sure. I did this with our second daughters name as well & he made me stick with it, which I’m super glad I did as it 100% fits her. I just feel like maybe [name_u]Auden[/name_u] is a cute kid name but not so much an adult name. I love [name_m]Alaric[/name_m] as well but I feel the opposite about it — it’s a great adult name but seems a little weird for a baby kind of name. Suggestions? Also, we we’re planning on doing Jospeh [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or [name_u]Jay[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] as middle names but two middle names feels like a lot. Can someone help me maybe combine the two middle names into one? Or even help come up with a combined name of [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]/[name_u]Jay[/name_u]/[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] + [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]/[name_m]Josef[/name_m]? These are our fathers names & it’s super important to me to incorporate my dads name ([name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]/[name_u]Jay[/name_u]/[name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]), as he’s having some serious health issues & almost passed earlier this year, but husband feels like he’s leaving his dad out, cue [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]/[name_m]Josef[/name_m]. Help me please y’all. I’m stressing myself out over this lol

Oh & our last name starts with a J as well which also bothers me with two J middle names.

Sisters names are [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] & [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] Talulah for reference.

Hey there! I think [name_u]Auden[/name_u] is really handsome, and I can definitely imagine it on an adult. The [name_m]Austin[/name_m]'s and [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]'s have grown up, so why not [name_u]Auden[/name_u]? But if you’re not sure about it, I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_m]Alaric[/name_m]. What if you called him a nickname while he was young? Like [name_u]Ari[/name_u], [name_f]Ally[/name_f], [name_m]Alec[/name_m], [name_m]Al[/name_m], or AJ (from his middle name).
For a combination of [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]/[name_u]Jay[/name_u] all I can think of is [name_u]Jorie[/name_u]. [name_m]Alaric[/name_m] [name_u]Jorie[/name_u] or [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Jorie[/name_u].

I really like [name_u]Auden[/name_u] on a boy. Echoing the pp, I know young adults named [name_m]Austin[/name_m] and [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] who suit their names just fine. Our societal concept of these names will grow up with them. By the 2040’s, there will be all these grown men named [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] and [name_u]Legend[/name_u] who will be his peers.

I agree about [name_m]Alaric[/name_m] being hard to see on a child. It’s a nice name but it reads a little stuffy for me personally. A few alts:
[name_u]Alden[/name_u]
Alder
[name_m]Alonzo[/name_m]
[name_f]Arbor[/name_f]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
Aslan
[name_m]Autry[/name_m]

I think [name_u]Auden[/name_u] sounds better with his sisters, and is also not quite as startlingly unusual. They’re both nice names, though. I think you should decide whether it’s more important to you to honor both your fathers or to have a name that flows well. Personally, I don’t think a long run of J names is the worst thing in the world, if you want to give a shoutout to both grandpas.

In regards to the middle names, is [name_u]Jay[/name_u] very linked specifically to your father? Because the name [name_u]Jay[/name_u] could perhaps be seen as a nod to the ‘J’ initials of both grandfathers, while holding a special meaning for you.

For the first name, I think [name_u]Auden[/name_u] will age well and goes very nicely with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u].

Good luck!

I think [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] would be a great combo and fit nicely with his sisters

I agree with a pp that unless “[name_u]Jay[/name_u]” is your father’s nickname or very specificially linked to your father, just [name_u]Jay[/name_u] is your best bet as a middle name that honors both J-names. [name_m]JOSeph[/name_m] + [name_m]JeremIAH[/name_m] could also give you [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], which I like a lot.

I love [name_u]Auden[/name_u] and think it’s very handsome and dignified. I think you should stick with [name_u]Auden[/name_u] - [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]!

THIS ^.

Yes to [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] as a way to honor both. I also lean more toward [name_u]Auden[/name_u] because when saying all 3 kids first names together I like that there is a variation of syllables. It might be a weird thing to point out, but I like the way the names sound together; they just seem to flow better as a sibset, if calling all names together. Good luck!
