I’ve decided on naming my daughter [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] with nn [name_u]Jackie[/name_u]. But I’m stuck for a middle!
I’m looking for something not too feminine but also not to masqueline either. I really like vintage names. I’m also naming her after [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], if that helps give you any inspiration at all.
Please comment any of your ideas! Thank you so much!!!
Congratulations on the baby girl! When I read your post my first thought was [name_f]Diana[/name_f] or [name_f]Dianna[/name_f]. [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Dianna[/name_f]. I know that’s your name, but I think it would be lovely to give your daughter a middle name after yourself! It is very feminine tho. A few more…
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Kaye[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Cecile[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Gail[/name_f]/[name_u]Gale[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]/[name_f]Delta[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Jewel[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Dale[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Emery[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Robin[/name_u]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Mercy[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. Also looks like [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]'s middle name was [name_u]Lee[/name_u], which is cute.
A previous poster noticed that your name is [name_f]Dianna[/name_f] and suggested using that as a middle name. [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is a [name_m]Roman[/name_m] goddess, while [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is her Greek counterpart.
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u], one of the key figures of the female Greek pantheon, is the ancient virgin goddess of the hunt, wilderness, animals, childbirth, and a protector of young girls, later associated with the moon. [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is the equivalent to the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_f]Diana[/name_f], but a possibly fresher and more distinctive, choice.
In classical mythology, [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is the by-name of [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], goddess of the moon and of hunting in Greek mythology, who is the equivalent of the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] goddess [name_f]Diana[/name_f].
This might be a stretch… I had never heard of this connection between [name_f]Diana[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], but recently came across this fact. I have never heard of a “by-name” in classical mythology.
[name_u]Jackie[/name_u] [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]'s own middle name was a family last name from her mother. Perhaps you may want to look at last names in your family tree that could make for an interesting middle?
It sounded like you were asking for a unisex suggestion, but all you are getting are girl names and I can’t do much better. I think [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] IS unisex, but might be taking it too far.
Something as feminine and pretty as [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] and I think one syllable works best, such as [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. Some of the suggestions… such as [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] aren’t pretty enough for the name [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f].
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a loved one’s name you could honor as the MN?
