[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Absalom[/name_m]. Ridiculous name? Sound too out there for an average family? I like long, unique middle names with good meanings. Example, [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] or [name_m]Justus[/name_m]. I want real thoughts on this:
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is adorable, although I personally like just [name_u]Theo[/name_u] more, but not many people will know his middle name, so if you love it, go for it. I have a very common name with a more unique middle name (for where I live, at least), and I love that my middle name is something special nobody else has but not everyone knows.
I like it. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is a good solid name, though its rising in popularity if that’s something that concerns you. I would say that [name_m]Absalom[/name_m] is a bit too out there for a first name, but it’s perfect for a middle name. It’s got a kind of quirky old fashioned vibe, and a good meaning.
Agreed–[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it! I go back and forth on [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]–I can’t decide if I like [name_u]Theo[/name_u], or [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], or neither, or both, or if I prefer just [name_u]Theo[/name_u] to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (although I lean more toward [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u] than the other options!), but I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_m]Absalom[/name_m] as a middle name, and like the tie to Cry, the [name_f]Beloved[/name_f] Country (one of my favorite novels). I also love it as a quirky Bible name, too. I’m not sure the namesakes are great, but it’s such a cool name! [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Absalom[/name_m] is great. I don’t think I’d trade it for just [name_u]Theo[/name_u] [name_m]Absalom[/name_m]–it’s missing something that [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] has.
If you really love it definitely go for it. I have what some would call a ridiculous middle name, but I actually only use it on rare occasions and not many people even know it! I can choose when I want to use it and whom I want to share it with. Now that I’m an adult I kind of like having a “different” middle name.
I like “serious” first names, like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and then a little more adventurous middles.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is a solid choice, and definitely not too out there. [name_m]Absalom[/name_m] is much more unusual, but if you like it, the middle is a good place for it. It makes the full name unique in a subtle way.
I love the name [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. It’s handsome and regal so, I think it should be the focus of the whole name. I feel like [name_m]Absalom[/name_m] kind of takes away from that. It’s a little too much for my taste. I would personally go for something like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is a great name, and I love [name_u]Theo[/name_u] as a nickname. [name_m]Absalom[/name_m] reminds me of the book by [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Faulkner[/name_m], but it’s a cool name! If you love it, that’s what matters.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Absalom[/name_m] has some serious substance. I like that in a name! [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is also one of my absolute favorite NNs ever. Why be an average family when you have good taste?
I am not a fan of [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] because I detest the commercial holiday. If not for that I’d probably like the name. [name_m]Justus[/name_m] is great, though.
I’d probably prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Justus[/name_m]. I think it offers just as much heft and gravitas but flows better (absolom being also 3 syllables just doesn’t work as well to my ear, but that’s just me)
