These are all names of people i grew up with (grew up in the south) or know of from the south.
Boy: Use your, your mother’s, your grandmother’s, even your great-grandmother’s maiden name as a first name.
Girl: Pick a name. Any name. Same as above, but put the maiden name in the middle spot.
Using maiden names is a big southern tradition, though I hate seeing them as first names for a girl.
If you have a daughter, [name]Mary[/name] is her first name. Her middle name can be another first name – such as [name]Mary[/name] [name]Alice[/name], [name]Mary[/name] [name]Jill[/name], [name]Mary[/name] [name]Jo[/name], [name]Mary[/name] [name]Grace[/name] – or your maiden name, your mother’s maiden name, etc – such as [name]Mary[/name] Whatley, [name]Mary[/name] [name]Bradford[/name], [name]Mary[/name] [name]Marsden[/name], etc. Or you could just have [name]Grace[/name] as your middle – [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Grace[/name], [name]Cora[/name] [name]Grace[/name], etc. Lastly, you have your Britnis, Neveahs, Renays, Lenays, Tiffinis, ad nauseam.
For guys, Confederate general names are big. Forrests, Bedfords, Nathans, Jebs, etc. Avoid at all cost [name]Grant[/name] or [name]Lincoln[/name]. Your kid will not survive the South. Take a regular name like [name]Trevor[/name] and spell it wrong – [name]Trever[/name], for example. [name]John[/name] is [name]Jhon[/name]. [name]Jerome[/name] is Jerone. You get the picture.
Thinking of [name]Reba[/name]- I would say [name]Barbara[/name] [name]Jean[/name], [name]Lori[/name]-[name]Ann[/name], [name]Cheyenne[/name], and for a boy [name]Brock[/name].
What part of the South are you in?
