I vote either [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u] or [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] in that order. While [name_u]Jude[/name_u] does make the name less grounded people rarely know a child’s middle name apart from close relatives so it really won’t matter all that much. I like the sound of [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] best however [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] does work best to ground the name (if you really want to do that) [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is nice too I just don’t know if it flows as well as the others (still a great choice though)

[name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is my favorite! I love love the connection to your bro and your SO. [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is handsome and don’t get me wrong I love [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] but I think it brings the combo down a bit, makes it a bit predictable, still a handsome combo but a bit more expected. [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is also very sweet! It’s very upbeat sounding. [name_f]My[/name_f] least fav is [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Oliver[/name_u], my immediate thought was [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_u]Oliver[/name_u] Twist which isn’t bad but is too much for me. Overall my fav is [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] Samuel!!

I also really do like [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] (i love that it gives the nn [name_u]Finch[/name_u] :heart:!) But if it’s not grabbing you then definitely don’t settle for it.

I would take [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] off of your list unless you really feel you would regret it. Sure, it’s nice stylistically, but it doesn’t seem to have the same meaning as some of your other choices, and your partner doesn’t love it (and it doesn’t seem like you love it much either).

If you don’t love [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Oliver[/name_u], and your partner does like some of your other combinations, I would take this one off the table as well. There’s no reason to use a name that you don’t really like if you can find a name both you and your partner love!

[name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Ivar[/name_m] does feel like a bit of a departure from your style, and it sounds like your partner dislikes it. While it’s an attractive combination, I wonder if you might ultimately feel more content with some of your other choices.

[name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Charles[/name_u] is nice stylistically and suits the names of your boys, but if you’re not blown away by the combo and it’s not your partner’s favorite, take it off the list! (I promise I’ll include some feedback that doesn’t involve ruthlessly culling your list.)

I see your top contenders as [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. I consider both to be excellent stylistic matches for you, they are shared as favorites for you and your partner, and they seem to be loved. I don’t think [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is too jovial at all; [name_u]Jude[/name_u] has a very appealing gentle gravitas! I also, accurately or not, associate [name_u]Jude[/name_u] with your style. [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is another gorgeous combination, and the honor for your brother is sweet!

It has really bumped Finnian Samuel and Finnian Jude up the list.

Finnian Oscar Mäckenzie has a nice flow to us too?
Also, my brother’s middle name is Grant and I think Finnian Grant sounds sweet. These are only last minute additions lol so I don’t know if I’ll add these to the list yet.

Anyways I love the [name_u]Finn[/name_u] names including [name_m]Finnian[/name_m]! [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] name is definitely [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. I’ve always loved [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] he’s such a handsome biblical choice with the meaning ‘told by G-d’ which I think is gorgeous. I love the brother connection and the story behind [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] I think using this name would always provide joy to you guys. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] does everything you want he grounds [name_m]Finnian[/name_m], packs lots of history, honours a wonderful namesake and is genuinely so handsome.

I think [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] sounds fab and to me outshines the new suggestion of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and using your brothers middle name.

I think you make really great points about [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] definitely remains high on our list. It is great to see so much love for the name.
I agree the meaning is very sweet.
I do find most of the biblical names are so wonderful. Perhaps why they are so well used and popular.

Seeing your surname I’d definitely say [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] instead of just [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. Such a lovely combo. As I said on your other post, I do think [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] sounds wonderful - that would probably be my personal pick. [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Mäckenzie sounds great too and flows well. As tori said though, it really seems [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] might be the one for you with all the meaning attached. Good luck!

I love Finnian Charles and how sofisticated it sound to me
Finnian Jude is also adorable imo
And i also adore Finnian Ivar But if it is a set stone no go for your husband than I think ny favourite combo might be Finnian Jude!

I also think it’s funny your partner is fully vested in the name process while ttc. In my experience, he’s waited until it is very much a reality to contribute.

Oh for a long time. Partner wasn’t interested :joy:
He knows how much a third is important to me in terms of the name ( he/she will be our last) and now I think he just ‘gives in’ and contributes, bless him :joy:

Also I don’t know about everyone else but I am one of these that I spend a great deal of time before a pregnancy in planning a name. When I do end up being pregnant I feel like the name just ‘sticks’ unless I have some divine type of intervention, like I did with my first born and his name changed during 2nd trimester.

[name_f]My[/name_f] partner is also very adamant on the name [name_m]Finnian[/name_m]. Which is fine with me, because I love it too…
With our girls name, I have two girls names I love in equal measure. So that’s going to be so hard. And he is ‘ok’ with either of the girl combos, he says I can decide on the girl front. Not sure why he says that for a girl and not a boy :thinking: but that is the case.

Finnian Jude is lovely ! :heart_eyes: im loving Jude so much lately

my second fav is Finnian Samuel (plus i love that is an honor name) and third fav Finnian Ivar!

I would go with [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u], and I don’t think it’s too light hearted at all, but I think YOU should probably go with [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] Samuel… It feels like destiny of something!
Also [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] is a superb name, one of my favs since I was a little kiddy
