I really like the name Carlos but i'm not Spanish or Portuguese

Hi everyone!

Is it alright to name a baby boy Carlos if he is not Spanish/Portuguese?

I love this name and would love to name a future son it but i’m half Polish and mix-European and I live in the USA. I would like your opinions please. Thanks!

I think someone with Portuguese or Spanish heritage would be more helpful here, but for what it’s worth, the only [name_m]Carlos[/name_m] I’ve met had parents who were [name_u]French[/name_u] and Chinese respectively, so it it being used

[name_f]My[/name_f] background is Portuguese and Hispanic. I see no problem with you using it, just like I’m sure an Italian isn’t bothered by a non Italian using [name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_m]Mateo[/name_m], or [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]. It’s a classic, handsome name. Go for it if you love it.

Im portuguese and I dont think it has any problem at all
[name_m]Carlos[/name_m] isnt a name that is hurtfull or has any bad connotations
[name_m]Just[/name_m] like we see a little [name_u]Luca[/name_u] being american with no problem the same goes for [name_m]Carlos[/name_m]
So if you like it, dont be afraid to use it
