I consider [name]Atlas[/name] to be super masculine, especially since in Greek mythology (correct me if I’m wrong) [name]Atlas[/name] was the man who was so strong he help up the [name]Earth[/name] (though not by choice.) So I say no to this, even in the middle. It’s just too masculine for a girl.

Technically, he held the sky and heavens on his shoulder. Not the [name]Earth[/name]. But you are right, it wasn’t by choice AND the name is extremely masculine.

The statue of [name]Atlas[/name] holding up the world is a very well known image and figure. And most definitely male. I definitely do not think it has any feminine qualities and while I think there are much worse names for a little girl, it is absolutely one I’d avoid.

I know this reply is 3+ years late, and I’m not trying to start some thread war, but I like the name [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] for a girl. I’ve never seen it as particularly masculine, though I do understand its ties to the Greek titan. To me, its origins are just its meaning. Personally, I’ve been considering renaming myself (a girl) to [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], despite the vast majority of people opposing it. It’s got a touch of strength and hardship to it, someone who’s been places and wants to experience more of life’s many flavors. I definitely believe that if anyone were to meet a female named [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] in real life, their interactions with said person would shape their views of the name in a different way.
