Too masculine for a girl. Sorry.
I think this one is a no-no because of the [name]Ayn[/name] [name]Rand[/name] connection. Unless youāre a fan of those books, I wouldnāt go there.
I agree. [name]Atlas[/name] is my top my BOY name and to see it on a girl disgusts me.
Technically, he held the sky and heavens on his shoulder. Not the [name]Earth[/name]. But you are right, it wasnāt by choice AND the name is extremely masculine.
Speaking as someone whoās normally very lenient about boy names on girls -
No. Sorry.

No, no, no! I love [name]Atlas[/name] on a boy and the whole history and meaning behind the name is way too masculine for a girl.
The statue of [name]Atlas[/name] holding up the world is a very well known image and figure. And most definitely male. I definitely do not think it has any feminine qualities and while I think there are much worse names for a little girl, it is absolutely one Iād avoid.
Not for me. It sounds too āout thereā.
I agree that [name]Atlas[/name] is definitely a very masculine name. If you HAVE to use it, put it in the middle spot - [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Atlas[/name] (though I know this name is quite popular), [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Atlas[/name], [name]Amelie[/name] [name]Atlas[/name] (though I donāt know if you have a problem with alliteration like that), [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Atlas[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Atlas[/name] (and you could call her [name]Lottie[/name]! love that nn), [name]Harper[/name] [name]Atlas[/name] (not my favorite, but if you like unisex namesā¦), [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Atlas[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Atlas[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Atlas[/name]. Other names from Greek mythology you might like are [name]Artemis[/name], [name]Athena[/name]/[name]Athene[/name], [name]Asteria[/name], [name]Persephone[/name], [name]Thalia[/name]. Some other a names that might be a good alternative - [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Addison[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Aimee[/name]. Good luck making your decision!
is this joke?
A girl named [name]Atlas[/name]. Hoo boy. Now I really have seen it all.
No. [name]Just[/name] no. Please.
I know this reply is 3+ years late, and Iām not trying to start some thread war, but I like the name [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] for a girl. Iāve never seen it as particularly masculine, though I do understand its ties to the Greek titan. To me, its origins are just its meaning. Personally, Iāve been considering renaming myself (a girl) to [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], despite the vast majority of people opposing it. Itās got a touch of strength and hardship to it, someone whoās been places and wants to experience more of lifeās many flavors. I definitely believe that if anyone were to meet a female named [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] in real life, their interactions with said person would shape their views of the name in a different way.
These people are so hurtful and disrespectful and disgusting. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] and Iām a girl, and atlas just not means the mythology god, its also a verse in Quran and many girls are name atlas. So disappointing.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] what you want. The majority here say āno.ā I say if you love it, do it! Someone very close to me named their son [name_u]Addison[/name_u]. We all thought it was a huge mistake, but he grew into his name. Maybe using a very feminine middle name would offset the masculinity of the name?

I love your name! This post is definitely full of very rude comments, it was also made almost 10 years ago and NB users have become much more open minded and kind. To be completely honest if these comments were made now 90% of these would actually be flagged as inappropriate
